The professional version of Castrol edge is different than the extended version with the STJLR. 03.5006 specification and can't be bought at Walmart. Other certified options are available for purchase outside of land rover. Another great less expensive option.

TrioLRowner - another 1,000 miles and your new oil will look as dirty as the oil you drained. Doesn’t means it’s shot.

I think the odds of it being the exact same formulation as the ‘Professional’ are pretty darn high it’s even in the same Gold colored jug. Just a different label. You can also get the same oil filter from the same OEM manufacturer at FCP Euro for half the price as well. So an oil change will cost me ~$75 US dollars all in.

My vehicle has the P400 Ingenium I6.

I routinely only drain about 6.5 quarts from the bottom drain plug of my P300. And it takes 6.5 quarts to fill it to the top of the hash marks on the dipstick. The manual says it has an oil capacity of 7.4 quarts. My service advisor at the dealership tells me they get more oil by sucking out the top than I will by draining out the bottom. Is he right?

Doubtful.

On the L405 and L460 people have done tests and you get the same amount of oil out sucking it out vs. draining from bottom. There may be slight bit more when draining from bottom. Just be glad you have a dipstick. Our 2019 RR does not while our 2023 does have one.
