Any idea if it was just a headlamp straight swap ?
Or is there more to it like changing out control units...

I swapped in premium LED headlights that I bought off eBay and programmed CCF with these changes. However, the DRLs are a bit funky...

Driver: low/high beam work; DRL squares work; halo never work
Passenger: low/high beam work; DRL squares initially come on when unlocking car and starting car but then turn off; halo never work

Has anyone been able to get both square and halo portions of the DRLs to come on and stay on? I'm wondering whether the lights I purchased have busted DRLs or if something with CCF programming was slightly off...

I’ve yet to hear about any successful swap outs to date .. I’ve read about it but there has been no video evidence to support it …
PowerfulUk was/is our best hope but I don’t believe even he had any luck …

now, that being said I have spoken to the IId guys via email and they have assured me there is a CCF path … I just haven’t seen any evidence it works. I have two 1800$ paperweights in the garage I’d loooove to swap in lol

Interesting. Do your lights behave the same as mine after you've programmed them? I followed oboe's instructions from above (pasted below).

I don't really care about the DRLs to be honest. The light coverage and intensity using the premiums are heads and shoulders above the base lights, and so I'm pretty satisfied if that's all I can get. In which case I wonder if there is a way to completely turn off the DRLs so my car doesn't look like a one-eyed pirate...

One side work flawlessly. The other side would flicker and the DRL would shut off ..

Mine are factory headlights that the JLR dealer assured me they could get to work.

after an entire whole afternoon in the dealer shop and many tickets with the JLR service dept they quit trying …. They didn’t charge me for the labour.

Did you buy both headlights new from the dealer? If not, you most likely got a bad headlight, and that's why its not working. Sign of a bad LED circuit board is exactly what you said, it'd turn on for a second, flicker and turn off.

Can you expand a little on what you did to get them to work? @oboe
