Hi Everyone, do the 18" 5094 alloys come in silver? I think I see them in some pics here, but I'm not 100% sure. It might only be the 20". I'm teeing up my order, and they are currently only available in Satin Dark Grey. I think I would like them better in silver against Pangea Green.
I'm tempted to go with the steelies, but I'm worried about rust with all the salt on the roads. Also, does anyone know if the extra weight of the steelies affect miliage?

The short answer is no, the 18" 5094 doesn't come in silver. It's been awhile since I ordered my Pangea Green '23 90S back in January. The vehicle either came std with the 18" steelies, the 18" Dark Grey 5094, or the 5 spoke 19" silver 5098. Everything else was an upcharge for the 20" wheels. Like you, I'm not a fan of all these dark wheels. Pretty much everyone on this board talked me out of the 19" wheel due to poor and limited tire selections in 19" tires. I ended up going with the 18" 5094 in the offered Satin Dark Grey. I did pick up a set of steelies for my winter tire set up and I will say they look much better on the vehicle than the Dark Grey wheels. I really don't like the Dark Grey wheels at all but at least I have a good selection for tires to put on them I guess. They do look as bad in the flesh as they do on the configurator.
Oy vey. Thanks. I don't think I'm going to be doing that much off-roading, so going with the 19"s and resigning myself to the Wrangler Duratracs might be a better option than having to look at those dark grey wheels every day. This is going to be my first real "truck" (moving up from an Audi Q5), so if I really get bit with the off-roading bug, I'll deal with it then.
I'm a guy who hates black wheels and loves silver, so I was ambivalent about dark gray; but I love them in person. Enough lightness to see the wheel's detail (unlike black), but seem to work really well with all the black rocker panel cladding.
20" 5098s (I think that's the number -- going from memory)
By contrast, my off-road 18" wheels are OEM steelies in black, and I wish they were lighter. Notice how much harder it is to see any wheel detail? I'll eventually paint them Pangea but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I also have a GT4, which had the same wheel available in silver, "Platinum" or black. I rolled the dice with Platinum, which is also a dark gray, and I'm very satisfied with those.
Immediately before that I had a 911 GTS, who's centerlocks only came in black. I hated that but wanted the standard centerlocks (because they look cool, despite being a massive PIA to remove/install). I lived with them in black awhile and finally got them painted GT Silver, the color of the car, and couldn't have been happier.

I have a 718 Spyder with the same wheels, and think the Platinum was the perfect choice - especially on a car with this much brake dust!
Thanks! The garage in that GT4 picture is gone — we moved a few years ago. I haven’t bothered to put the RaceDeck down in the new place, and don’t miss it functionally, but it did look awfully nice.
And I’ve been meaning to ask you about your siggy for a long time. RRC? I can’t figure it out. Rolls Royce Corniche? Range Rover Cabriolet? What is it?
