2.0 vs 3.0 Help me make up my mind.

Lots of them all over. Just type in 2016 to 2020 JLR Range Rover Sport hybrid system into Google. This one is typical:
https://www.drive.com.au/reviews/201...hybrid-review/
In 2020, I made no judgement on the CURRENT state of JLR's hybrid technology. And I knew it was the role of the RR Sport to figure it out for JLR -- as the Evoque figured out the topics I noted previously.
I suppose if I were an electric car guy, I maybe would have bought the P400 --- but I did not to roll my personal dice on JLR's hybrid techology. Instead, I am continuing to roll it on 4WD capability. Everyone does their part, I suppose.
Enjoy !

But that's the point - since they undoubtedly use completely different maps, neither of which are likely to be linear, that simple relationship tells you nothing useful at all.

I'll weigh in as another data point. I drove P300 and P400s back-to-back several times on separate occasions at the dealer. Each time, I walked away preferring the smooth ride and power delivery of the P300. I certainly understand folks wanting to buy the extra power of the P400 (esp if towing on a regular basis), but I've had zero regrets going with the P300 (except that I couldn't order cooled seats at the time!)
As an aside -- it's curious that Lucky8 decided to go with the P300 for their Trek configs. I'm wondering if that was a pricing decision, or perhaps in-line with the comments that Trio has been making above regarding off-road performance.
Great dialogue, and one of the reasons I enjoy this forum!

I don’t know that they did it because the 300 was “better” at offroading, but rather because the things the 400 are better at are of zero value for the jobs the Trek competitor Defenders needed to do. So why pay an extra 10k for unneeded road prowess?

Edit - holy crap it's up to $12k now when I try to build stripped D90's. They must be tying it to trim level and including a bunch of other things.
I'll have to try building what I'd actually want in both configurations.
Damn looks like still a $9k difference when I do that....

I gotta try out the configurator again cause the last time I did it two of my builds (one a 4 and one a 6) only had a $6k difference and I think that wasn't all engine.

the p400 gets a moonroof and cooled/power seats standard. That’s a near 8k delta right there. P400 also has “free” colors but on the p300 you have to pay. P400 also gets “free” 20” wheels
An equally equipped p300s for me vs the p400se minus the cooled and power seats is $8k less that’s about the true delta between the trims.

it really depends on equipment levels.
