Is there another tire size you think i should be considering then? If visually its not even noticeable maybe i do stick with the 275/55..

just trying to go as big as i can with these specific wheels and stock suspension

Let the OEM drive your decision making. JLR fits 275s to the Defenders with 22" wheels, which is 0.8" wider and just a smidge shorter overall. The issue with all this rubbing seems to be more in width than in height, so stick with what the OEM has tested over hundreds of thousands of miles of testing. Wheel offset comes into play as well of course, with most aftermarket wheels going toward lower offsets to push the wheels out to the edges, which can cause you some issues at full lock and full articulation. What looks good on the auto show stand often is a nightmare to live with on a daily basis.

Good choice, you won’t have any issues at that size perhaps apart from some ride quality compromises as those Recon Grapplers are HEAVY.
Still kind of puzzled over the JLR decision to go with 32” tires instead of 33” for this platform. Would’ve opened up dozens of tire choices and overall just looked a little more in proportion. But much like the high tow ratings, minimum 18” wheels, etc quite a bit of the decisions center around the Euro market and their penchant for towing. We in the Americas tend to want a little more ground clearance than Europeans.

You think these are going to have subpar ride quality??
The main reason I went with the recons is from every review and even nittos site, it seems they are a quieter and more comfortable version of the grappler, and overall people seem to like the grapplers. Recon is same weight as the grappler approx and ko2 so am i missing something here?

My goal was to have most aggressive looking tire i could while maintaining ride quality and limiting highway driving noise

offsets and widths of your aftermarket wheels have the biggest impact of rubbing

i have black rhino Chase that have a very aggresive offset of +10 and 275/55/20 k02 lifted 1 inch

i rub pretty hard in access and full lock. but once in normal it’s fine. i like the aggresive offset which pushes the wheel to the larger fenders

so once out of my garage i always raise the car
