So I have a 2020 defender 110 with 52k miles.
every now and then it looses power press the gas and it slowly works it’s way to speed if I pull over turn the car off and restart it boom it’s back to normal strong take off. Then after that journey is over on the next restart it goes back to sluggish mode. Sometimes sluggish mode lasts for two trips and the check engine light comes on for 24 hours. Then goes off. The app says emissions problem.
it went in for service to fix the uneven HVAC
and I told them about this. They fixed HVAC but the road test was fine and no check engine light.
I feel like it’s the turbo working or not working ?
anyone else this issue or ideas?

QQ -- Guessing you are in US/Canada -- if so, P300 or P400 motor?
Best first step if you aren't in the "drop it off at the dealer or indy" phase would be to get a good code reader (I use Gap IIDTool) and read the stored codes. That would be a start.
It quite literally could be anything from a loose wiring connector anywhere to an actual emissions issue to a fuel issue (or more..), so it's a bit hard to diagnose from afar. Unfortunately these are so new we haven't yet gotten the collective knowledge here to help diagnose, unless others have more technical knowledge than I do !

I have the 4 cylinder turbo model.
are there any steps I can do myself?
like clean throttle valve?
check connections. And yea US area
my dealer is close but the dealer has no tools you drop off then they drive the car to the location where it gets fixed. They never have loaners so it’s always a mess
thanks for suggestions

I can't speak for the OP, but this sounds similar to an issue I had with my p300. Engine would stumble under load, such as going uphill, and it seemed like a boost cut. Sometimes the CEL would flash and it would go into limp mode. No message or CEL while in limp mode, but i couldn't get to 70mph on the interstate. My code reader wasn't showing anything. For me the solution was to replace the PCV valve. I also did the spark plugs while i was in tere.
