Default 2020 Expediton Rood Rack Accessories

Hey all,

just leased a defender from my local dealer. Tricked it all out with the accessories available from JLRNA.. including the expedition roof rack.

Has anyone found any good accessories and more importantly compatible ways to mount them to the rack. I wanted to load it up with off-road things such as a Jerry can or 2, hi-lift jack, shovel, etc.... but I’m having a hard time finding ways to mount those items into this rack.

any ideas or suggestions are appreciated!

The aero bars on the rack are Thule, so any accessory designed to fit Thule t-slot racks will fit. Lucky 8 has also manufactured some things to fit, and will probably continue releasing more.

Any T-slot accessory from any maker will work.

That is not really true - some T-slots are different sizes. Many, for example, work with standard metric bolt sizes. Those bolts will not fit the t-slots on Thule or Yakima style roof racks.

These T-Nuts work great in the factory rack. Like others have said, Thule T Nuts and bolts fit. You'll notice what I bought are rhino rack brand but made to fit thule aero bars.

Then you just need some M6 x 1.0 bolts and washers. I bought some of these and they fit perfect.

Yes, but that doesn’t matter if the questions is accessories for the LR rack. Thule and Yakima accessories will fit using the t-bolts. If you ever have an accessory that doesn’t fit, you can always swap t-bolt sizes to make it work.

Bought some of these tot ry - I have the Lucky8llc hi-lift jack mount, and an axe so far - Ive found playing with Rhino Rack and Thule has worked except for playing with sizing of T bolts due to the edging. I have an 270 degree awning on the way, but will need to engineer a spacer to make the flush mount rack work...
