For what it's worth, I did know my container ship and was able to track it through the Panam Canal and watch a live feed through the locks. This is it travelling through at dusk on it's way to California where it docked on December 23rd, 2022.
How were you able to track it? My car was just built, but I only have a VIN so far.
If you ask your dealer, once it is loaded on a car carrying vessel, they can get the ship's name and IMO number. Then just Google it and a dozen ship tracking sites will let you watch its painfully slow progress as it wanders all over Europe picking up cars and eventually heading out into the Atlantic. Once it gets far offshore, then only satellite tracking works on AIS, a service most sites charge for. When it is in range of the shore receivers, they get the VHF AIS signal.

Thanks! How long did it take from build to delivery? My car is coming to California. I was told March delivery.
marinetraffic.com is the best site to track ships if you don't want to pay for it. There will be gaps when the ship is out of range but this site seemed to have the best free coverage. Once the car is on the ship the dealer will know the name of the ship it's on, the you can just google 'MVname' where name is the name of the ship. onece it gets to the panama canal go to the canal web site and there are live feeds where you can follow along the progress through the locks. it takes a while as the ship needs to be inspected and have a technical package and a canal captain brought on board. It took 4 months for my car to be delivered from order but I dare say things have gotten worse since then. Once it is built it should take five weeks, maybe six to deliver to CA.
I kind of had a long list of options in addition to special paint. Ordered mine on Aug 23, accepted around 7 September, built in November and got on the ship 23 December, which then proceeded to do the bushman's tour of Europe. Transits the canal on the 14th of January then up to Long Beach ~ 24 January. Eventually making its way to Phoenix. I then have to hop a lift on whatever to go pick it up. I realistically don't expect it until the beginning of February. So reasonably, 6 months is the pipeline, depending on what you ordered, give or take a month.
I found out today that my 110 S was loaded on to the ship Glovis Caravel on 1/11/22 currently at the dock in South Hampton. My original delivery date to dealership was 1/21 which had changed to 1/28 a couple weeks ago. Based on the info I have read on here I'm sure it will be delivered sometime in February.

I wonder if mine was put on the same boat. I had a 1/26 delivery date but my dealer told me 2/4 a couple weeks ago. What part of the country are you in? I’m in the southeast.
