Mine was built in December 2020, so I probably got lucky that mine are fine.

Just heard that my 110 X-Dynamic HSE, with a previous build date of mid-September, is expected to be pushed back at least 3 months, probably more. Dealership is still trying to get more info.

Also talked to 2 other Florida dealers who both said any new order placed now will be 9-12 months.

Just like with the Bronco, by the time my Defender order starts to get built i’ll have fallen back out of love with it and will have moved on to yet another truck. It’s proving exceptionally difficult to find a company set up to take my money right now.

I talked to my dealer today. No changes they are aware of regarding my 9/17 build date. They said it will still be built per my order which included 11 inch screen, hud, digital display, etc. 110 x dynamic hse. Hope no push backs. Lol.

According to my sales guy, my car is still on track for a 8/27 build. 110 P300 S build with the 11" screen.

My build (110 SE) was supposed to be 7/16 but was pushed to 7/23 per my dealer. Hoping to hear word of a VIN this weekend.

Fingers crossed.

Production has been shut down for almost 4 weeks now with no hint that it will resume any time soon.

The only information from JLR that we have is that they are looking to substitute components, remove features, and possibly increase pricing if it drags on.

But your sales guy thinks they will resume production seemingly immediately and then proceed to make up for an entire month of missed production by building 9 weeks worth of trucks in just 5 weeks, which is what it would take for that 8/27 date to happen?

You have to appreciate his unbridled optimism.

I made an inquiry to a local dealer and their response was that "some lines are pushed back, but it was mainly the special edition lines". He stated that he just ordered an X-Dynamic last week that will arrive in November and any X-Dynamic build that I order would be estimated to arrive anywhere from November to February. That seemed a bit wide in the estimated build/delivery.
I've never ordered a vehicle before, always purchased what was on the lot, so kind of excited to try it but I might just hold off till next year before pursuing a new build.

Just my opinion, but if you have figured that you want a new Defender and you don't need it right now, and you want to order it (aka spec out what you want and nothing you don't want), I'd recommend putting your order in now. There is no guarantee next year will be any better and actually, these supply chain issues seem likely to last for at least the next 12-18 months globally. Plus the longer LR fails to meet demand for the Defender, the longer the ordering queue will get.
