I haven't checked in with my dealer to verify, but mine was built the same week, so hopefully it's sitting on the ship with yours!

Here's the OBERON schedule for North America. Looks like it left Halifax today headed to Savannah.

@Moretti - I'm late to the thread, but earlier you mentioned ordering directly from the manufacturer. I've been in and out of consumer & commercial vehicle sales (new & used) for a while. I definitely agree that the customer preference is moving towards on-line purchases. Years ago we did a Customer preference study (big company, big spend) re: an on-line vehicle purchase system and the stunning results were that if a customer could trust the brand, the fulfillment & returns - you could sell ANYTHING on line. The problem though, is that the old guard are in direct conflict with the new guard. Most every state has strong laws in place where manufacturers cannot go around their dealer network. Used cars - sky's the limit. New cars - depends on the state. Most of them need a point of Dealer presence. I think the expansion of Tesla (et al) will be limited by these laws. And oh, by the way, EVERY local dealer is part of Dealership networks that are VERY active in their local / state legislation so I don't think things will change soon. At best, you will have a wonderful shopping experience only to have to get on a plane to pick it up yourself.

Not meaning to be a Debbie Downer, but I was kinda shocked re: the state of things when I first started getting into the industry. Most people aren't aware of the dealership AOR laws that are binding automotive manufacturers.

My dealer confirmed today, mine is sitting port-side waiting to be loaded up for its voyage to the new world.

Port-side Defenders. Dramatic re-enactment.

Thanks for sharing. I have also been following the voyage via marinetraffic.com which shows pretty recent gps locations.

Correct me if I am wrong but the dealer configuration here was put into place to protect consumers for warranty service? Ideally I can see certain dealers being a place holder to process the handover of new vehicles, but the need to deal with them through the initial sales process seems outdated in the year 2021. I get it their is a lot of money involved there and its tough to change the system when business or people are going to be displaced, but I got to imagine that the dealer system is not appeasing to the vast majority of buyers. I have to imagine things will be different at some point in the reasonably near future.

It would be great if more shops could be approved to perform warranty work as well and you had your pick from multiple businesses instead of being funneled into your local dealer for warranty repair. A guy can dream I guess...

Can someone explain the "Committed to Build Date"? It's different from the "Build Date". Is "Committed to Build" meaning they have committed to building it by the "Build Date"?

I originally had a Build date of 6/25 and then it was changed to 8/27. My dealer messaged me that it was "Committed to Build" on 7/22. I'm hoping this means they have confirmed it will be built by the Build date.

I have yet to find anyone that had any details of how and when their vehicle got from Nitra to South Hampton.

I would guess by the time the dealer gets back to you that the vehicle may actually be loaded on the ship since it's already the 10th in the UK.
Mine was sent on a sea vessel from Belgium to Southampton, then it started on it way to the USA.

Not everyone gets 3 dates. There's order date. There's a period of time to make changes....this is the part some are not told about. You can make changes up until the committed to build date. There are no changes after that date. Then there is the build date. Make sense?
