My dealer said he assures me that my build is correct even though the listing is not correct. Mine was built on June 10th and there was no indication that it was not built with the 11.4" screen. So, I'm hoping it is correct. I will know in a few days...probably picking it up on Monday or Tuesday.

 

I could walk too if not correct but due to the $5k non-refundable deposit, I'd have to order another one and wait several more months for it to arrive. It's been a long time already.

 

If they don’t keep their side of the deal (to build the vehicle you spec’d) you are not obligated to keep yours (to buy it). You can get your deposit back in this situation. What sort of crooked dealer would try to hold on to it? It would be no different to ordering a 110 and them trying to sell you a Fiat Uno.

 

Exactly. If they don't make per your build sheet then that is on them. My dealer said 1k non-refundable but when I read the form I signed it does say refundable. But either way, if it is not what you want you can get it back. A few years ago I ordered a Jaguar and paid 1k deposit. They then told me Jag take an extra 6 months and I said forget it and got my money back. Or if you go to another dealer and get another car, that manager can call Land Rover dealer and get your money back also. I can wait until Maybe March of 2022, but if it is still not ready or not done my spec, I may have to look for another car maker. It seem impossible to get a defender from another dealer as they are already pressed. I tried that and my dealer did not want to do it anyway.

 

I'm picking mine up Monday, August 30th. So, it will be 4 months from order to accepetance.

Finally getting close to picking mine up which is due on 9/10! I placed my original 2021 order in January before it was converted to a 22’. Definitely a seriously long wait - it only took 3 months between order and delivery for a Volvo special order I did a few years back.

 

I have a little more to wait but if I lean Eastward from my deck I can almost hear the A-Pillars flapping in the stiff Atlantic breeze.

No Moretti, I ordered at the right time. The sales guy told me I ordered at the right time. It seems others have offered after me and received before me. This should have taken 3 months, not 4.

 

Where are you having to put down a 5k on refundable deposit? I just got my defender Saturday, called around a couple of dealers and found one that matched exactly what I wanted but wasnt spoken for (It was in transit), put down a 1k refundable deposit, and took delivery 1 week later (South Carolina).
