2022 Defender recovery points / tow hooks
Back when I had to order the 2022 90 S P300 all I had was the PDF because the 2022 wasn't on the configurator yet at that point. When I sat down with the dealer to order I had the rear recovery eyes on my build $250 until I heard the bright pack was a prereq for it, and I really wasn't keen on the look of the bright pack on my build, if anything I wanted darker bumpers, not lighter. Anyway, I bailed out of the recovery eyes, salesman was surprised. I said I'm going very light offroading, I won't be in the middle of nowhere with this thing. He's like, almost nobody is doing this because they need it, it's the LOOK. For $1200 I'll take adaptive cruise, I'll use it every week. YMMV.

Not at all, I just had a budget to work with and a few things that I wouldn't leave off no matter what, so I had to draw the line somewhere. For some people and their use case for the vehicle they might have the eyes as mandatory. I had the cold weather pack, adaptive cruise and remote start as my big three. I live way up north and it's my daily driver. We all get remote start with inControl, I'll use that a bunch in the winter. I do wish I had the undershield, towing pack, rear eyes etc, but where does it stop. lol The payment on 60k will already back me up to the wall. Add extended warranty, NYS sales tax at 8%, 3.5% interest, it's a grand total that makes my eyes water. I'm happy for people who can afford to add another 10-20k to that!

It's not a factory installed option unfortunately. It's a port install meaning someone takes apart your defender to install the under shield. If the port installers don't have the part in stock then it does not get installed.
The port install is cheaper than what the dealer charges for labor.

No chips in a skid plate thankfully.
This guy on youtube has a lot of videos installing accessories on this Defender, here is his video installing the rear recovery hooks:
It doesn't look too bad actually, I'll probably do it myself along with other easy bolt ons like the expedition rack, ladder, wheel arch protectors, etc. Just those I just named doing it myself probably saves close to $2k in dealer labor charges

He also sells the rear tow rings in multiple colors and plastic inserts to cover the gap between the bumper and ring -- as well as quite a few eye-candy bangles ..... to each his own.
Enjoy !

Ditto, @TrioLRowner . I try to send him business because he deserves it with all the help in the Land Rover community. I'm going to be ordering it shortly from him for the same reason. I've messaged them several times about orders/questions and each time I've had stellar customer experiences with his team.
Thanks for your reply TrioLRowner.
I just ordered the front undershield. I will have it installed at the dealer. Wish it came in black...
If all goes as planned i'll be testing out the recovery points in October, as i tend to get stuck more than most when driving in the back country on old forest roads.

Another person is hoping to go to black, as well .....
