Smile 2022 Landrover Trophy - So Cal

New member. Picked this up sorta by accident. Fell in love with it.

Was it worth it? Absolutely YES. But... $15k for a wrap + $20k over MSRP is definitely not a wise use of funds. If you're looking for one, my recommendation is to take the P400 and use that same $35k to do whatever the heck you want.

But since I have one, I'm very happy with it and it is super unique.

My first upgrade will probably be lights as I live in a rural area. I'm thinking the RIGID ones with a GPS that focus the light beam based on speed and then accessory lights rear/sides.

2nd will be a 2nd battery (completely separate and removable) from the stock system. I plan on putting everything on a MDF board that lays on top of the foam insert in the rear boot. I'm a ham radio operator and currently have a FTM-400 in my rig but I'm going to try out this
HEADLESS radio HEADLESS radio
that works with Android. They sell a bluetooth handheld mic so this could be a VERY VERY clean install. With my new vehicles I like to try and maintain as much warranty as possible and I've learned from experience dealers don't like us touching their electronics & systems so I simply borrow one way power (with a diode from their 12v cigarette lighters) and leave their stuff completely alone. When I take them in for service, I remove my stuff (reason for removable MDF board).

3rd lift kit. I'd like to get to a 33-35" tire. I've been eyeing the subframe lift kit.

And here she is... Pretty right? Looking forward to networking with everyone on this forum!

Yep, I'd go for a Trek 21 over a Trophy Edition (though they both look great). The Trek 21 is totally tricked out the way I would love it - except no sliders. On a good note, they are already kitted out with Winches! No idea how they scored 80 of them. I kinda recall that the Trek's are P300 while the Trophy's are P400. Not sure I would care between the P300/400 for an off-road dedicated Defender.

While they are both awesome vehicles, I'd love to know what the Trek's go for. I think I have a feel for the Trophy's. I'm thinking it will be at the level of the V8's at least.

The previous iteration of The Trek, which was done on a Discovery, had a $25,000 mark up for all the goodies it included. Some, are still sitting on dealers' lots. My son's friend bought one of them, last summer and got most of that markup discounted. Not sure the same will be true for the Defender Trek but it looks like a hell of a vehicle!!

Congrats!

To clarify, the $15k "Trophy Edition Pack" not only includes the wrap, but accessories such as the expedition rack, ladder, winch-ready A-bar, underside protection, etc. Regardless, still a premium.

Wow, $20k over MSRP? I was fortunate to get mine for MSRP and with the winch ($5,800).

Are you heading to the Biltmore for the Trophy event next month?

Enjoy!
