Default 2023 110S rattle heard and felt in healiner

Started to feel and hear a noise when closing the door inside the car, like an echo slam. Also noticed on rough roads. And a noise when closing the window at speed Today I learned I can feel this and quiet the noise by pressing the headliner up and holding it with my hand.

This rig has a bit over 40k miles all put on by me and this is a new noise. I'm still under warranty and have appointment, but it's inconvenient to drive 90 plus miles to the closest dealer in Marin.

Any suggestions, could it be a broken clip in the headliner? Lots of rough roads where I live...

Most likely a broken clip.

Couldn't quite pinpoint where you are pressing on the headliner, so not sure if this is helpful or not...

If there is a clicking type rattle above any door try this.

Remove the grab handle above the door. When you remove the screws you'll need to firmly pull the handle down and guide some square tabs through the hole. Those tabs rattle on the headliner when installed. They are used to install the headliner as one unit at the factory. The tabs hold the handles to the headliner for installation.

You can either cut those tabs off, or cover them in gaffer tape, or a different soft tape. Then reinstall the handles.
