Default 2025 Defender 110 - MUD FLAPS

Hey everyone! New member and new car today! A 2025 Defender 110 in the Carpathian Edition with the matte film. I love it!!! I did not spec this car but found one with all the options I wanted but it came with the mudflaps. I'm not a fan of the mudflaps and want them removed. I plan to remove them myself but my question is, are the OEM mudflaps going to leave exposed holes in each spot? If so, what options do I have to cover the holes? Are there some parts you can buy and swap? Many thanks in advance for some tips how to remove and cover holes! Kind of a silly design to drill into the car for mud flaps!

Thanks all! Cheers!

Yes you'll see holes.
Without fully replacing the trim pieces the only way to cover them would be to use body color plugs, or install the shorter mud flaps.

Mudflaps will protect your paint. There are two types of mudflaps for the Defender. The classic flap is longer and bigger, and the other mudflaps are more streamlined, and look better on the Defender in my opinion.

What kind of mudflaps are you referring to that are shorter streamlined? Can those install exactly into the same holes as the factory installed ones?

These are the smaller mudflaps, and yes, they use the same mounting points as the classic mudflap design.

FWIW, I have the smaller factory front and rear mudflaps on my 2020 and I really like them. Alot. They have protected the rear 1/4 panels in front of the rear wheels a good bit. (from things getting kicked up on the highway)

I drove the Defender about 5000 miles before putting mudflaps on and noticed a good bit of rock chipping in the area in front of the rear wheel, both on the glossy lower black panel but also on the actual door paint, which was a bummer. That's why I added the mudflaps. After putting mudflaps on, minimal to none in that area.

BTW -- it seems this happens on the highway at higher speeds, not when offroading. I noticed the chipping after two trips back-forth from Portland to San Francisco at high speed on highways in winter where they put some sand/grit on the mountain passes between CA/OR state lines.

Also, I Offroad mine pretty heavily and the shorter mudflaps somehow actually stay on. I'm shocked.

Just get the smaller mud flaps instead of the bigger ones. You will be glad you did.

I'm trying to locate them online. anyone have a good source to buy them through? I'm inclined to go this route, the factory ones are just plain goofy looking IMO. Thanks all for your responses.

Best place is your dealer's parts department. The part numbers are:

VPLEP0389 - front mudflaps - $140.00
VPLEP0390 - rear mudflaps - $140.00

You can also get them shipped form Powerful UK, an reputable company, but you'll have to have them shipped.
