2L engines replaced with 3L??
Just looking at the config on the landrover build functions, looks like all the 2.0.L engines Been replaced with same hp 3.0L mev variants! Is this right noticed other option changes and the new dynamic model there too? Is this right anyone know the reasons? Or is this a glitch 😂😂👍
"Alongside the plug-in hybrid, Land Rover has updated a new six-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine to the Defender line-up. Using mild-hybrid technology to increase efficiency, it will be offered in three outputs, starting with the D200 (197bhp and 369lb ft) and the D250 (245bhp and 420lb ft), replacing the D200 and D240 previously featured in the range. Land Rover says both units achieve 32.3mpg, with CO2 emissions as low as 230g/km. On the Defender 110, the D200 achieves 0-60mph in 9.5 seconds, with the D250 cutting that to 7.9secs.The new D300 variant will sit atop the Defender's diesel engine line-up, producing 296bhp and 479lb ft of torque, with a 0-60mph time of 6.3sec on the Defender 90."
catman and scottk: In which country are you looking? For North America 2021, we do not see this change --- still no diesels and no mild hybrid other than the P400 3.0 L offered in 2020.
We DO have in North America offered in the 2020 Evoque MHEV a 2.0 L petrol, transverse mounted, putting out the same 296 HP and the same torque as in the 2020 and 2021 2.0L Defenders.
Or so it looks, today.

Unfortunately true; why on earth couldn't have LR given early buyers the option of the 3 litre with a later delivery date. To sell the 2 litre only but knowing the 3 litre was going to replace it in only a matter of a couple of months was dishonest.
Wow -- a really fair question, I agree !! We in North America don't see on our website any allowance for Diesels on the Defender, so I went on the UK website and oh my -- yep, the 2020 diesel offering list is a real raw deal vs. the 2021 !! Unless one is allergic to MHEV.
Looks like if a person wants a Land Rover product: a) it will be a MHEV and the b) four cylinder diesels offered in the first year will be orphans before even powering any significant quantity of vehicles.
As the 2020 Defender P300 4 cylinder does NOT have MHEV, and the P300 4 cylinder in the Evoque DOES, I suppose the non-MHEV P300 I have on order for 2020 will become an orphan .... very soon -- 2022?
Umph. Not sure if this is good or not.
