I would like to see the mute function turn of when you change the volume (either on the dash or on the steering wheel). If you park with the radio muted and turn off the ignition, then decide you want to listen to the radio, you can't. The dual functioning on/off mute/unmute button on the dash just acts as an on/off. You can't unmute the radio without turning the ignition back on. Surely there is a simple fix for this.

By the way, @insider, is there somewhere to lodge ideas for improvements at JLR. You mention customer feedback, but I don't know where to give it.
I don't know if it helps but I have my custom button on the steering wheel setup to toggle mute. You could try that. However due to one of the updates that made the muted radio unmute when starting the vehicle I now find myself spinning the volume down to zero before shutting off the vehicle. I believe that essentially mutes it when it reaches zero anyway, then you can spin it back up later whenever you're ready. The whole business about trying to use the vehicle when the engine is off needs to be looked at more closely by JLR. I find there are a number of annoyances with how this all works at the moment. For example you'll be sitting there with the radio on and the engine off and it will start doing some sort of countdown after a couple of minutes which requires you to shut it off and then back on using the power button on the right. A few minutes later it will do something similar but without notification it will just shut off. Sooo let's turn it back on yet again with the button... ugh. It's strange. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I know it mentions pressing the start button before it shuts down the first time but that lights up everything on the dash as if I'm going to start the vehicle, I wouldn't want to leave that on. With the old days when we used a key there was an accessory position for this where you left the key one notch towards the driver when the engine was off but you wanted the radio left on, now with just a button I don't know how that can be made to work in a similar way, once again maybe I'm missing something with this.

Plus if you've ever tried using the hotspot with the engine turned off it's maddening. You have to toggle things on and off with the start button every 5 or so minutes, meanwhile you're losing connectivity so if you were on a laptop and VPN'd into work you've lost the wifi connection to the hotspot as well as the VPN... every time... So essentially the workflow was unusable for me and now I end up leaving the vehicle running if I need that. I think minimally there should be a way to keep the hotspot active for 20-30 minutes when the engine is off. Obviously we can't leave things on for hours with the engine off but the way it works now where things stay active for a few minutes doesn't really meet my needs. If I had it to do over, if I buy another Defender and this functionality doesn't improve I'll probably lean toward just getting a Verizon Jetpack instead, or something along those lines.

I have a 22 110 and after this update had my first "LR" issues show up. I think its probably a coincidence but the day after the install my AC fan would not run no matter what I did. I also started getting alerts that the safety systems like adaptive cruise, emergency braking, etc were no longer available. The safety errors would last about 2 minutes then go away and that cycle happened three times. The AC was resolved after leaving it off all night and starting it again in the AM.

The AC thing seems random and this actually happened to me a few times when I had a 19 Volvo XC60 so not just LR. The safety thing makes me think its maybe related to this release as it seems some of that stuff was changed? Especially the change to emergency braking? Will keep an eye on it and see if anyone else posts about this here.

* edit - had the car since November and about to hit 10k miles. Other than this only squeaking issues.

Please do not. Start stop is just about the most useless feature offered on a 4800-6000lb behemoth of a vehicle. The polar bears will die either way due to us getting an Indian owned, Slovakian built monster of an SUV that has to traverse an ocean to get into our hands.

Same. Update popped up for me an hour ago. 3.2.0 doesn't have all the release note info about adaptive cruise and all the other junk. Basically just mentions some 3 word NAV thing, USB enhancement, and PHEV updates. None of those apply to me.

I wish I could pay for adaptive cruise control thru an update. I don't know why car companies don't allow this.

and here i find myself always disabling it in our vehicles. i find it does 2 things i don't like. a) when bozos are fluctuating between 40-60 mph for no reason at all with adaptive enabled i just end up doing the same and b) when someone exist the highway ahead of me more often than not my vehicle thinks i'm still behind them, sees a massive slowdown by that person now off the highway, and wants to drag me down to their speed. basically, i hate it under most circumstances.

i havent noticed problems like that with my defender’s acc. Just drove from RI to Moab and it worked flawlessly, admittedly always on 2+ lane highways and in the passing lane so the exit behavior would have rarely applied. It does register lane changes ahead of me pretty quickly though

I’ve never seen the highway exit behavior you’re experiencing, mine reacts as you’d expect it to when cars ahead change out of your lane or leave the highway. Might be something to check out with your dealer.
