Is the firmware for the smaller screen a different version cycle? I just checked and my last update was July 5, to 4.0.1.

I got the black screen of doom again twice today and was hoping an update might solve my woes. :\ Is there a way to force it to check for recent updates, or does it just happen automatically?

I wonder when/if it’s appropriate to just not update…? I mean if things are problematic, I get updating…but if nothing is wrong…maybe it’s best to just leave it…

I'm running 4.1.4 and have zero desire to touch my os at this point.

just pondering here : )

It's independent of screen size.

Thanks!

I am in black screen hell, it's almost every drive now. Is there a way I can kick this thing in the pants and remind it to update?

I don't think so. Software update notifications appear to arrive randomly. Sometimes both our Defenders get the notification at the same time, but for the last few, our 2023 has been getting them weeks before our 2021.

Yeah, that's my plan as well. I have a MY24 with 1100 miles. Software said up to date when I checked it. But if it prompts me to update Im not touching it. I haven't had any issues and also my home wifi signal is weak. If I run into an issue that's specifically targeted in a software update then I may try it.

I received the notice for the 4.1.5 update 2 weeks after the previous update. Was a bit concerned with it being on the heels of the previous. Thanks to this thread I turned off AT&T and went with my wireless which is strong in the garage. 1st update that I didn’t have to make multiple attempts. I’ll do that every time from now on. And knock wood, I have never had a system glitch related to an update.

Mine is a '24 110 XSE June delivery and it just prompted me to update to 4.1.1. - Stereo volume refinements, Wireless charging improvements, O2 sensor triggering engine light fix.

Weird how the software versions are all over the map. I thought I would have a more updated version since I just took delivery last month.

I took delivery also in June. I am currently running 4.0.1 weird that it’s so behind!
