I am not sure I follow the new design. On the photos it looks like the old design you also have to notch out the plastic painted portions to accommodate the winch, which would depend on the winch. Does the new one not need to do that? Do you have actual photos of that? Any install videos or instructions?

You also delete the factory recovery point in favor of your own? Obviously your version would not have a soft shackle on that recovery point.

If you wanted Light bar I suppose you would use the one that goes next to the landrover badge.

Good eye noticing the recovery points. We do not and will not delete the factory recovery point on the subframe. We had many requests to add 2 higher mounted recovery points. We deleted them from our 1st design since we have been using crush cans on the bumper to improve high speed crash crumple. We didnt want to add even more stress to this collision component so pulling from the factory recovery point on the subframe is the better option. We will now offer a version of our bumper that eliminates the crush cans and adds shackle/clevis mounts. You are correct that you should not use a soft shackle on this type of mount. It would be configured to accept a soft shackle or soft loop winch line using a bow shackle with a synthetic insert to add bend radius and smooth corners for the synthetic rope. Like in this photo

. The light bar option is located in the notch below the winch tray. The Baja designs fits in there very well. We add this for the folks who want one.

You are correct that our current bumper requires cutting the factory grille for the winch you select. The grille we are designing does not require any trimming since the factory grille is not used. It replaces the entire grille. It recesses back into the empty space and opens the entire winch tray. There will be some trim around the headlight bezels. We will have photos as soon as we get the prototype on my 90. We will also have an installation video/instructions as soon as we have a finished product. You would either cut your grille or purchase our grille for any standard low mount winch. Our grille will be required for any of the high mount Red Winches we sell.
