Hi All,
New to me Defender 130 Trek. Doesn't have adaptive cruise control. Earlier I was looking at an outbound that didn't have it either. That salesman told me it didn't have it because of the winch, which I thought was strange. Anyway, I'm thinking about getting the Gap tool to activate it (among other reasons). The question I have, is how do I tell if I have all the necessary hardware to make this work? Where is the radar module thing located if I have it? Seems like it would be around where the winch is, but I don't know what I'm looking for.
Thank you!

Its the green oval emblem that is the ACC sensor that comes standard whether you option ACC or not - and looking at your picture - I can actually see a case for why the winch bumper may interfere with it
That does help, thank you. I was going to buy the GAP tool for it anyway, so I guess I'll find out!
JLR has included ACC hardware for a number of years now whether or not it was specced from the factory. It streamlines production to include the hardware. I'd recommend having the ACC calibrated after you activate it. I had my dealer calibrate it after I had mine activated, and it made a noticeable improvement, especially braking in stop & go traffic - it is much smoother and no longer abrupt & jerky.

Interesting Cincy.
Mine on my 2020 is insanely jerky, like it’s almost game-i-fied when I’m in stop and go traffic on the highway. It accelerates very rapidly. Slams on the brakes. I don’t remember it being like this when the car was new either. it’s like mr toad’s wild ride in stop and go traffic. It’s almost a game “how long do I trust it”... mine was spec’d with it from the factory, not something I added after the fact. I did add a winch and bulbar and have had the bumper and grill off a half a million times.
I wonder if it needs a calibration. Anyone know if this is something we can do with GapIIDTool?
