Adding Soft Close Doors

Yes, fully aware why it was started. Someone made a comment that their defender had soft close doors and my comment was a response to that.
The outfit is using factory parts you can see it the video. Either L494 or L405 parts. The question is whether they need additional wiring or programming to make it work. Their response to me when I inquired was "it's complicated".

I hope these guys are ok now the Russians are coming, I reckon their inventive problem solving solution to get the passenger doors to have the soft closing function is great
I agree it would have been nice to know a little more on how they went about how they did it, but only time will tell if someone else problem solves how these guys went about how they did it, I agree the parts bin use of parts is most likely what they did, maybe the part or function replicates the tailgate function that must already exist in the system

when you look at their website in chrome browser, it auto translates the website, they do a lot of stuff, quite impressive

I just want to know if it involves splicing harnesses as I won't do that. It looks like they are using OEM parts based on the picture of the table they have in video. The l494 and L405 are the only cars I believe that offer soft close so identifying those parts is easy, it's the additional brackets, cables, etc that becomes difficult.
If the locks fit 1 to 1 mechanically and all necessary settings are the L663 CCF, it should not be too hard to do. I can easily imagine an additional 12v feed to power the soft close motors. This would be right up Simon's alley. I'll have a chat with him...
