Default Alcantara/Suede Headliner

Since I didn't build my 2023 D90, I didn't get the darker headliner that I like, so I am thinking of doing a DIY headliner/pillar replacement in either black Alcantara or Suede and also refinishing the plastic interior roof pieces in black. Hs anyone done something similar? I already have the extended leather, and I think the Alcantara will really finish off that premium feel.

Does anyone have a diagram for the roof and also the sunroof screen? I am assuming the screen rolls up onto itself, so trying to determine if it is even feasible to replace the screen with a different material before trying to tackle this project.

Thanks!

Hi Defend1

Have a look here for all the interior trim parts and diagrams. I don't have any direct knowledge of how the headliner or blind are removed unfortunately but you'll se there's a lot of pieces to the jigsaw.

@Jomara - THANKS for that link! I have used other sources for searching for Parts and I have to say, this may be my new standard. Well done, there.

@GrouseK9 sometimes it’s not easy to find the part as the indexing isn’t the best but they are all in there somewhere. Glad to share 👍🏼👍🏼

Any luck with the headliner replacement. I'm in the same boat... swapping Oyster headliner for alcantara in black/dark gray + A pillers while at it.

Is this like a total custom job or does someone make the headliner in Alcantara? would like to see some pics of this!

Custom as far as I know. Remove headliner, remove fabric/foam + replace with foam-backed alcantara.

if i had any extra alcantara in mine, i'd gladly rip it out and give it to you not a fan.

seriously though, it's always interesting to see the projects others undertake to make their cars and trucks their own. good luck!
