Default Android Auto / HUD / Waze Questions

Hi all,

Got my new 2025 P400 about 2 weeks ago and absolutely loving it. Taken it out on a couple of small adventures and can't believe what this thing can do!

I had a couple of questions hoping someone can help me out with, maybe simple fixes but I can't seem to get it.
- Android Auto was working fine up until about 2 days ago. It still connects fine, but if I hit the Navigation button that would normally open up Waze or Google Maps depending on what you're using, it instead will only bring up the phone settings screen in Pivi. The only way I can get to the actual Android Auto screen now is to either hit it in media, or start/stop a phone call. However, if I exit to anything in Pivi, I am left with the same problem. I have tried unpairing and re-pairing the phone, this did not resolve the issue. I've tried hardwire and wireless connection as well, no luck

- I have the HUD and really enjoy it. However, it will not show my Waze directions in the HUD even when Navigation is checked in the HUD box. I had a loaner Defender prior to receiving mine (which is actually what got me to order mine) and it was able to show the navi. Is there a trick to this? The only thing my HUD displays currently is the speed (always) and a song when it starts, and the phone icon if I happen to be on the phone

The first thing I do when any Android app stops working the way it used to is to go into that App's settings to see if any permissions have been revoked due to lack of use. Android will revoke permissions to apps if they haven't been used recently, so check that first. Check also if battery optimization is on for those apps... sometimes that gets in the way of normal operation.

Last thing I'd try is to delete the app data and its cache. This will "reset" the app to the way it was when you first installed it.

If none of that works then it might be a Pivi thing. Note that Google Maps has integrated all of Waze's features for the most part so you may find it a better solution overall. During our epic road trips down to NC earlier this fall, it let us know about stalled vehicles and speed traps all the way.

Thanks for the info, but this isn't an Android Auto thing. As stated, Android Auto actually works just fine. The issue is with Pivi and when clicking on Android Auto it brings up phone settings instead of bringing me into AA.

I'd try to clear the data in the Android Auto app settings on your phone just to be safe.
