We have a relatively new 110 V8 with about 1500 miles- it says an update has been downloaded and to install it by closing all the windows, and alarming it. I've done this 4 or 5 times and it obviously hasn't done it because it keeps prompting me everytime I turn the car off. Everything I want seems to work fine so I'm inclined to ignore it as I don't need issues and the dealer is an hour away...

Never had these issues with our '65 Series II we had when I was in high school...

 

Had a message appear about a new update to 4.1.5, and that it was downloaded and would install once vehicle was locked, alarmed, with all windows rolled up but the next day when checking, it says version 4.1.4 and ‘Software is up to date’, with an install date of June 24, 2024. Now I have to figure out why it didn’t load. Never had issues with previous OTA updates. Anyone else get bumped up to 4.1.5?

 

Yup my update to 4.1.5 from 4.1.4 downloaded and ran just fine - knock on wood that trend continues.

EDIT: Correction my update was from 4.1.5 to 4.1.6 on 29 July. Brain fart on my part; apologies for any confusion. In any event the update was ran fine and is working fine.

 

I've been getting prompted for weeks now to update to 4.1.1. It's annoying but I just ignore it. Carplay works flawlessly for the most part, and Apple maps displays in the guage cluster. The stock map looks horrendous, that would drive me insane if that thing was stuck in there. I'm literally never updating.

 

I wish I had resisted the nag to update. But is the stock map problem experienced by everyone else on 4.1.4? Is it really stuck there without any way to get Apple's maps back in the guage cluster?

Is there a way to "downgrade?"

Correction: My update was to 4.1.5.

I tried resetting it, forgetting my phone and reconnecting, and whatever else I could think of, but the map in the driver's display is still stuck with the default maps (instead of carplay).

As they say, "a man with two watches never knows what time it is." And that goes for navigation with two different map systems too! Help!

 

Mine skipped 4.1.6 and went from 4.1.5 to 4.2.0. It took a week of failed attempts, though. Interestingly, the on screen note for 4.2.0 say “This update enables improvements to SOTA (Software Over The Air) capability.”

 

We’re at 4.1.6. Never saw 4.1.5. No issues. Yet.

 

Just updated to 4.2 Never saw 4.1.5 Have no idea what comes with 4.2, there is no description after the download and installation.

 

In many cases freezing and map issues are related to IOS version and car play problems.
