Looks really good! Do you have a link to the hyper dip? Thanks.

Here ya go!

Here is the best tutorial from the manufacturer on hyper dip

tutorial on masking

A few tips.
- Put the cans in a bowl of warm water before spraying, I've been using plasti dip for 13 years and find this makes it that little bit smoother and widens the spray pattern.
- After each coat wipe the tip with a microfiber and isopropyl alcohol. I've had the tip gum up and the can with throw bubbles
- get ready for a hand/forearm exercise and be very careful not to have your finger come in contact with the spray, it happens to me every time and can throw bubbles.
- I also highly recommend Dip Coat, i used the old version but this new version is supposed to last longer. It gives it a smoother harder finish and is hydrophobic

- i was able to get a couple of torn up trash bags inside/behind the bottom bumper grill in order to protect the radiator from the hyper dip. My original plan was to pull the fog light surrounds off but I just couldnt get the clips to release. realized all the holes are vanity so just sprayed over them. Other vents were easy to mask.

I would take an issue with this tutorial.

Not taking a trim piece out and just masking it before any applying any kind of coating is an unacceptable shortcut. When going for visuals, it will leave a nasty looking edge with the old surface being seen through, when going for protection it will leave that gap unprotected.

Sure thing, it's much more expensive to do it right, and there's a risk of trim pieces being broken (and in my experience, they are routinely broken) even with most qualified personnel - but that's all a part of the whole thing. You get up to what you pay for.

Nice job! Looks great! I think I would have pulled those fog light surrounds off and spray them off the car, but otherwise it looks very good.

How does it hold up to UV? I'd like to do something like this as well, but I really want to it last more than 2-3 years if UV is an issue.

I pulled and pulled and couldn’t get the surrounds off but the outcome doesn’t bother me!

Pretty sure it lasts as long as you want it too. Easily 3-5 years it’s UV resistant and I’m sure the ceramic coating I linked would help.

it’s super cheap anyways. Used 4 cans total
