Blackboost BOV
It's not about dealer BS, the dealer has no incentive to deny a warranty claim and ultimately isn't the one denying the claim anyway - it's the manufacturer who tells them no. And sure, a denial of warranty for an engine failure because you happen to have aftermarket wheels or something equally unrelated is protected by Magnuson Moss. But if there's a provable aftermarket modification to an engine that subsequently fails you're immediately on the back foot, are at a significant resource disadvantage compared to the manufacturer and are very quickly going to have to weigh up the cost/benefit of pursuing the claim. it's all well and good being a keyboard warrior when you're taking about a car that isn't yours.

Some dealerships police this hard while others will ignore mods within reason. So incentivized or not it most certainly is dealer BS when they bring up something is causing a failure when it's clearly not.
I've been on the fighting end more than once and I've come up on top every time because the dealer and/or manufacturer didnt want the bad press and admitted in the end the modification couldnt have caused failure. it's called a scare tactic they use to get the people with no mechanical knowledge to go away or spend more money.
It's really not difficult to defend when you're in the right. The difficulty comes when you're defending something that actually caused an issue. For example a software change that caused the Turbo to work beyond intended. Changes in mapping/ECU reflash depending on application is definitely fair grounds for denial of warranty.
We're talking about a BOV in this case so to bring up denial of warranty is pretty ridiculous. If a dealer was to tell me that it caused an issue such as an engine failure they would need to wait quite a while for me to finishing laughing.
Im not sure what "keyboard warrior" you're referring to since we all own nearly the same SUV and im considering installing the Blackboost in mine.

The first step of warranty denial is at a dealership. They have the choice to ignore any aftermarket products that may or may not contribute to a failure.

Because the BOV is part of the emissions control and intake it will void the engine warranty if added.. I've delt with Porsche and Mercedes with BOV installed, both refused to work on the cars unless the BOVs were removed.. I guess us old low IQ members here don't know the ways of the automotive world.

I think he has a BOV installed in his body because I'm sure there is a whistle that comes from his ears when the wind blows through his head.
...and I quote. "What a fool"

The same guy who said this .."What a fool's errand to purchase and install junk that will do nothing but void your warranty... " is now claiming he had a BOV installed on two vehicles.
I think he has a BOV installed in his body because I'm sure there is a whistle that comes from here ears when the wind blows through his head.

Looks sweet.
I guess I could check, but for the sake of conversation, do they give any performance test results on that bad boy?
Ive always wondered if conical filters are superior, why do most manufacturers use flat style filters? I’m sure there are reasons like cost, space savings, etc., but that would seem negligible if conical performs “that much” better.
Now I need to quantify “that much”…
just checked their site. 8-30HP increase. 30 sounds boastful, but even 8 qualifies for me.

how is it in person? I’ve been wanting to get an exhaust, between the miltek and quicksilver for the valve to be quiet when I want it to be (we do trips between NH and FL a few times a year, I don’t want any drone). Seems like in videos there isn’t much difference between stock and the aftermarket exhausts.
Did the intake give any additional intake noise, or diverter sound? Can you hear the supercharger at all? I could have sworn I could hear the electric supercharger in one of the videos of the intake I saw.

Ummm, guess I should have done some more research on your set up! Damn, the full suite of upgrades. Bet she sounds insane.
