Bluetooth interference?
CarPlay will connect with bluetooth. Check your carplay settings.
I need to figure that out… I listen to streaming radio and the Pivi cellular reception is horrible, would rather rely on my phone.
Carplay, just like Android Auto, will not work without connecting via wifi direct. It uses bluetooth for the initial connection between car and phone but then uses that to negotiate a wifi direct connection due to the fact that wifi has geometrically more bandwidth available to it.
You can still connect your phone to Pivi for things like your contact list and even streaming music from your phone's app like spotify or youtube music, but you can't use the launcher to run apps from your phone on the infotainment unit.

It can be really frustrating when you’re unable to update the database on the A-racer RC2 Super Computer software. This kind of issue can interrupt your tuning process and affect performance tracking. Make sure to check for any software updates or potential compatibility issues. If you're managing multiple devices or tuning setups, platforms like best free document scanner app 2025 https://scanner.biz/reviews/best-free-scanner-apps/ can help you track your updates, manage settings, and ensure that everything is in sync for optimal performance.

This is an issue which I have experienced for the moment I got my Defender. In certain places, almost to the inch, it would drop your connection for car play. I had a specific route which I marked exactly the start and the stop of the interference area. I pinpointed it to microwave antenna on a tower. It was in the middle of nowhere, and that was the obvious culprit. After a heavy storm in our area, about a year later, the antenna was damaged, and out of commission most likely. No more drops. Worked flawlessly in that area.
Poor design and / or components of the Pivi unit are the real problem. Use the Car Play wired, and this should not happen again ( I know, it sucks ). Bluetooth is not really the issue, you can listen to music and phone calls, and it will not drop in the same area. you will loose a lot of functionality, but it proves the point. Once you set is as wireless connection, that is where the trouble is. Mostly on 5GHz band. Land Rover knows about it, but they will never fix it - in fact there is no fix, other than changing the entire system. May get a fix in the next generation, but I honestly doubt. Go to the shop, and even take a tech on a ride, and they will deny it. If you are using wired connection, do not let the phone connect to the Pivi Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Wi-Fi prevails over wired connection. You will have to "forget" the connection to the car.
