Waiting on both.... not at all confident in the ability of either Ford or LR to built a semi reliable vehicle... the state of incompetence in the world today is unprecedented...

Quoted for truth, brother. It is a sad, sad state when we're reduced to aspiring to another Wrangler for reliability in a hardcore offroader.

That said, no problems whatsoever on my P400 110 as I approach the 2000-mile mark. We'll see. I'm expecting great reliability. My trust is JLR's to lose.

Don't gloat too much. Maybe JLR should have sat their vehicles in a holding lot, stuck in purgatory, until all their issues were fixed. Instead they release them into the wild and have their customers go through the agony of repeated dealer visits for repairs that don't seem to end.

As much as everyone likes to compare them these vehicles are not true competitors of one another...the vast amount of defenders will see limited off road use at best...the defender prices it self higher but also delivers a more luxury product...

Like Jeep, the vast amount of Broncos won't see off-road either.

Where I am at the majority of jeeps at least to appear to be geared towards being used off road...but there are also lots of trails and places to use them here....

Read this also. September to start replacement and even longer for orders? Another supply nightmare as well as QC issue.

These sorts of things are happening across the industry.

Yes specially when you live in a country like Germany, where I use it to tow the horse trailer for my daughter and there it might see some mud. And almost all roads (I would say 95%) you are allowed to drive on are tarmac. I need to go to an "off road park" to have some fun.... or take it to Eastern Europe or maybe into some remote locations in the Alps. Well I took the 30 year old 911 up there and it worked too... ;-)
So I really envy all of you that have dirt roads around.. :-)

We reserved a new Bronco first night and ordered first day we could (after doing a lot of research on what options could be selected to get a vehicle early) and the vehicle still isn’t built per Ford. Got a letter saying it was started on July 19.

We, too, bought our Defender 110 because of Bronco delays. We needed a serious 4wd vehicle for a trip to my sister in-law and brother in—law’s place in New Mexico. The Defender was great for that.

Can’t say the Defender has been perfect. A-pillar trim was flapping quickly, and windshield cracked for no reason. That can’t be replaced until Sept 30. We also had some sunroof malfunctioning issues and some other minor electrical things where it just doesn’t do what you ask it to the first or second time.

That said, the Defender is nearly a perfect vehicle in most ways. The technology for off-road use is far superior to the Ford from what I can tell, and the IRS makes it handle much better on the road. I like the Britishness and oddness of it in some ways, as my daily driver is a 1999 Rolls—Royce Silver Spur, and we also have an XK8 coupe—so we are used to “issues.” Just get more than one vehicle and you will be fine!

Drove a Bronco for the first time yesterday. These two cars aren't even comparable.
