I am looking to buy a used 2021 or newer Defender 110 SE.

Wanted to see what are some common issues I should look out for. Also, what are some must have options/packages. I will mainly use this for ski runs in the Tahoe area and on regular roads.

 

You will love it. I like the way the Defender makes me feel driving it…. Confident and relaxed. I think it’s a superb vehicle.

The good news is. it’s hard to go wrong.

Here’s my take =

- P400 motor (inline 6) is superb
- Get heated windshield, seats, and wheel.
- I’d get one with towing hitch bc it’s super $ to install after the fact (2-3k?)
- the Adaptive Cruise is great but for <$500 or so you can buy a gap IID tool and re-code car’s CCF to enable it. The radar sensor is already there for emergency braking 😎
- the rear cool assist which has a vent or two in the wayback is really good for the doggos in the boot or kids (if 7 seater) in the 3rd row
- I got rear locking diff. Like it a lot.
- I got the one w the plug in the rear right / like a standard AC House plug - we use it all the time to charge laptops etc
- some of the early fabric seat trims (around edges) on lower models got stained too easily and JLR replaced seat covers. Read up on this if the one ur looking at has the fabric edges on the top surface of the cover
