Buying a Defender without a markup?
Hi, New to the site, and saw your from Boston area. Was wondering what dealer you dealt with? I ordered from Norwood on 9/04/2022. I have yet to get any confirmation and seem to be floating in the pool with other orders. No word or real information from dealer other than saying spring delivery. I don't feel very reassured by just the salesmans word and would feel better with some written confirmation from Corporate. I also have an open line with a salesman at Boston LR, who has kept me informed on arriving dealer stock, none of which has been close to what I ordered, and not yet ready to give up on my dream 90. Also talked with Sudbury and Hanover but would not budge on Dealer Market adjustment or crazy dealer added options. Thanks for any input.
Would you mind saying which dealer you purchased form? I have a 110 X on order, but have been looking around for any V8's that may be available. But, I'm definitely not willing to pay over sticker.
I haven't had any luck finding dealers in Southern California with no mark-up. The mark-ups range from $5k-20k depending on the model. North Scottsdale was helpful and will sell without mark-up but 12-18 month wait time and they can't sell outside of their region anymore as per LR Corporate.
I'm looking to order a new 110 too. I'm in NY state, and I've spoken to LR Manhattan, LR Mt. Kisco, and LR Albany. All are quoting strait MSRP. Deposits are ranging from zero to $5000, but no markups. I'll probably check a few more and also verify that there aren't any mandatory fees (paint protection, security fees, etc.) before I pull the trigger with any of them.

happy to connect you with my sales person
Offer the dealer what you're prepared to spend, if they say no, give them your contact info and tell them to call you if they change their mind. This has worked for me many times, including with my 130 first edition. It doesn't always work (it does more often than not), when they get to the end of the month or end of the year and are trying to hit a sales target, they'll start calling.
