Buying a Defender without a markup?
Picked up mine right after Thanksgiving last year - ordered in April from Jake Kaplans in Rhode Island, no deposit required.
Paid MSRP as expected and there were no tricks or ADM. The fact that I got what I had paid for my Audi Q5 two years previously as trade-in value made up for the fact that there were no discounts
They even were able to beat my credit union for financing (0.89%). I worked with Glen Spardello through the process and would recommend him

I put a deposit down on a Defender yesterday at the Dayton OH dealership for MSRP. They initially said I needed to buy their 5 year $2k maintenance package but let me opt out of it. The car is set to arrive on Feb 11 - so I feel like I hit the jackpot
Sounds like you are getting a prior ordered customer car that backed out last minute. Regardless... congrats!
They said they ordered that spec but it could have been for a customer. Who knows.
I test drove one about a year ago and ended up with a 2018 Q7 instead, but haven't stopped thinking about the Defender since. Now with the used market so crazy, I am making money on the Q7 and found this not too far north of me. I'm ecstatic

Carmax is no longer doing that or they didn't know what I got that they gave me an offer for.
Btw, I'm selling my 2022 D90 that still has less than 1K miles on. Has another car coming so I'm just making room. if anyone reading this and willing to pay the market value please contact me. I'm just trying to get out for what I'm in for.

Curious to know what you think the market value is for your car. The market is obviously bananas right now and I'm sure you will do quite well, especially if it's an X, a V8 or nicely optioned car.
Good luck!
I'm not in the market because I'm actually signing all the paperwork today for my new 2022 Carpathian Edition 90, but I'm curious why you're getting rid of your car with less than 1k miles? Is it not what you expected? What model do you have?

my dealer mentioned used car market softening up a bit. too many on the lot and they overpaid for them and now sitting.
new cars is a different story. dealers have very limited new car inventory.
stock and crypto markets have been volatile. the days of seeing your portfolio grow 20 percent in a month are fine making buyers a little hesitant to purchase at ridiculous prices.
supply always levels out prices

Agreed. Not to mention Jan is always the slow month for other reasons.
Thing is the supply isn't picking up at all and not for awhile. My dealer is saying they got way more orders to fill than the foreseeable supply and it's going to be a problem for the entire 2022. Plus the new ones can see lots features/options missing so that's another mess they need to deal with. I see the mileage isn't really affecting the used unit as long as it's within reasonable range. I will take the time to sell but certainly no point losing money in today's market.

110 are more in demand than the 90’s
i traded my p400 110 over the weekend for 10k over what i paid and 3k over its original sticker. i got a heft discount on it when i bought
so the market is there. they listed for sale 4k less than anybody else and they have 0 defenders on the lot beside mine. it will sell fast
