I use my remote start quite a bit, but in the other extreme. I start it up when finished skiing. If it's been snowing, the front windshield defrost comes on so I'm ready to go when I get to the truck. It's a bit warmer inside also.

Fellas cabin preconditioning I was told is a new feature that you don’t need remote start to do. Maybe I was told wrong, but I think it uses different or new technology to affect the climate without actually having to do a remote start. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I might be able to trick the car to do this even if not plugged in, I will run some beta testing….

That's for the PHEV only. They're not bringing that to the US are they? Porsche does an okay job with hybrid because they believe in them as the better option vs full EV but LR hybrids have been purely acts of compliance with dreadful specs.

EV battery pre-conditioning is meant to improve charge speed and range and it's not the same as cabin pre-conditioning. It does cabin pre-conditioning as well to get to desired temp while still plugged in so you don't have to eat a chunk of that 20-something mile battery range after you just spent 5 hours charging it.
