Default Can you “wrap” rear bumper?

I want to get rid of the silver front and rear bumper on my all black Defender. I’m thinking of going the “easy” route and using the PowerfulUK front bumper cover that sticks on, and replace the fog light covers with the black ones.

but they don’t make anything for the rear bumper (without removing the whole thing)….has anyone just wrapped the rear bumper in a different color? Does it hold up well if so?

thanks!

Yes, the rear bumper can be wrapped. There are plenty of people in the Facebook groups who have had their bumpers wrapped. Not sure how well it holds up over time, but should be good.

H don't see why not. I had full body PPF installed on all the areas not already covered in matte PPF from the factory. This included front and rear bumpers.

Here is my rear bumper vinyl-wrapped and ceramic-coated.

I've had vinyl on other vehicles (see the MINI with teal on the edge of frame). As long as you,
  1. keep it clean,
  2. store it out of the sun,
  3. put a good ceramic coating on it,
it has lasted me up to seven years. Though winter driving is harsh where I live and the rear bumper is taking a particular beating!

very nice! Did you put the “bumper protector” (gray piece) on after the vinyl or before and let them vinyl around it? I was thinking of doing the same thing to protect to top of the bumper when loading / unloading

I put the bumper cover on after the wrap. I definitely wish I had gone with the "full cover" type that you can see here from PowerfulUK and will probably end up swapping mine.
