We are the leaders of the free world and should not be afraid to promote our ideals and innovations. Tariffs hurt everyone, with some hurting more than others. It is simply an additional tax that is paid by importers.

 

We were the leaders of the free world at one point, but losing our standing rapidly. Lots of other countries have much more advanced transportation systems than the US, our politics are what holding us back.

 

I agree with you, but we still have a window -even though a tiny one- to remain such. We still have the world's largest economy, but others will beat us to the top position soon. We need to get wise and start investing in training a great workforce and improving our infrastructure. We cannot go on by leading the world by spending more than the world on our military and ignore our workforce and infrastructure. Sometimes, it is ok to be number 2. Look at the UK today compared to what they were during the British Empire. And yes, you are correct that our politics on both side of the isle, are holding us back. Wake up America.

 

The United States is still far and away the leaders of the free world. That's why everyone wants to immigrate here.

We do need to update aspects of our infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and airports. But we definitely don't want to take any advice from the people in charge of the bullet train to nowhere in California, that is already billions over budget and years past the projected completion date.
