Default D90 mount shovel on spare tire

I've got a roof top tent on order so will lose almost all space on the roof rack. Does anyone have suggestions for a way to carry a shovel and maxtrax on the rear tire? I could easily strap the maxtrax to the outside of the rear tire going through the gaps in the wheels, but I'd really like to get the shovel outside also.

I going to remove the rear seat bench in hopes of getting a somewhat flat surface to haul gear. I'm trying not to have to completely remove the rear seat as once or twice a year we'll take guests on an off-road day trip.

Well, you can look at DMOS shovel mount but that might be a fitment issue, depending on your shovel/size. High regards for their delta shovel - heavy duty/good quality, and folding head. I use a small backpack for mine, cause it frequently gets moved. Also look at BadAss Tents for their tire mount/side mount - good quality - I have their rear tire 'platform' carrier.

Was looking into figuring out some similar solution… I have a Gp factor maxtraxx mount but want to keep the shovel out there when it gets muddy. Ratchet straps work fine on the trail but need a more sound solution on roadways between trails.
