I wanted to try out a muffler delete on this new to me unit because I couldn't find a video anywhere. Hope this helps someone looking for the same thing I was! Also have a horrible wind noise I covered in the video, any ideas on how I can get rid of it?

 

I’ve had the wind noise as well so I took it to the dealership and they replaced a pillar trim and that helped, I don’t hear it anymore.

The A-pillar noise is a common issue and there's at least one TSB on the topic. Your dealer will have done a ton of these. Mine had it, and the dealer made it significantly better albeit it's not 100% fixed. it's mostly done though, at least to the point where it no longer drives me nuts.

Thanks for posting this.... definitely something I'm considering doing myself. I want more sound, but I do NOT want drone.

So please post back in a few weeks or so once you've had some time to live with it.

All the current aftermarket setups out there are just too dang pricey.

I've been considering getting something like this and having it fabbed to fit.. Do you what size piping is currently entering the suitcase muffler? I can break out the calipers and measure it myself tomorrow but just figured I'd ask if you knew.
I know its not as big as 3.5" so this exactly won't work. but just to give you a sense.

Thanks for the vid! I've done similar muffler deletes with my Volvo XC90 V8 and my Audi Q7 V8. On fence on doing to my Defender but defiantly sounds better.

 

When you did the delete did it cause the check engine light to come on?
