Hi everyone,
I'm from the Middle East, and basically our version of off-roading is "Sand Dunes" all winter long.
The issue i'm facing with my Defender is that i can't turn off the ESC completely. As many of you guys know.
it's supposed to be a "safety" feature.
But it's so irritating and DANGEROUS!
If you driving on sand, you need all the power you can get, and the keyword here is "without interruption", and i hate how the ESC kicks in when i don't need it and thinks the tires need traction when in fact i need them spinning as much as possible.
I love the Defender so much, but this is a huge problem, as it put me in very dangerous situations where i almost rolled over from a 50 meter sand dune cause of the ESC interruption
Can anyone please tell me a solution to completely turn it off? or even removing a fuse every time i go off-roading? anything honestly will help.
I'd love to see a video of that if you ever post one please drop it here.
Best I can offer is that I drive on a soft beach a lot and I get solid spin. Flat terrain though, not dunes.
These two videos have some really nice sand driving They seem to be able to get spin at higher speeds. Probably my two favorite Defender videos. Have to click and watch them on YouTube but it's worth it.

Yes, Sand mode + DSC off. most off-roaders i previously owned had the DSC button and when you long hold the button, the system is completely off until you turn it on back again,
I know there is a fuse you can pull to fix this problem im sure of it but i just can't find it.
i once drove my previous Defender 2020 in a water that was so deep it completely cover the bonnet, after i was done with my drive for some reason there was a malfunction in the system and the DSC fault light came on. i was so happy that i kept it and didn't fix it.
