Two quick pics from different bug out trips during the week this Sep here in Colorado. First trip was a few weeks early for leaf peeping - c'est la vie. Second trip was to the grasslands where trees were clearly not an option Both were fun and interesting, each in their own way.

1) midweek trip for a few nights out in the Fourmile forest area near Buena Vista, Colorado. Click here for additional images.

2) a quick getaway during the week for a few nights to Pawnee National Grasslands, northern Colorado, just south of WY and NB borders. Click here for additional images.

Tuckerville, CO, abandoned mining town. And the Rocky Mountain Pine Beetle is devastating the area…..

Corkscrew Gulch, San Juan National Forest, between Silverton and Ouray, Co. The drivetrain on this Defender is nuts, love it! Didn’t sweat slipping when at 12% down, 5% tilt, on mud, snow into a switchback, I could hear/feel individual wheels braking, etc. And the wheels superimposed on the front camera view had my DW accusing me of going for the rough stuff deliberately! 😎

Great way to kick off the weekend with a bit of a drive and a hike.

Hopefully Ireland can hammer the Scotts tomorrow to keep it going.

Ophir Pass, CO

Beware Wildlife!! 😂

Nasty rough shelf. Hope not to have oncoming traffic or everyone gets skinny!

Ophir Pass, elevation 11,789

Traffic jam due to power line ROW clearing.

Great shots of what looks to be a stellar trip. Color me Pangea with envy.

Also. You have excellent taste in tents. Love my Kodiak.

I love mine, the 10x10 they packs down suprisingly well. Wasn't able to get too many photos over the weekend as we ran solo, but here's a few from last year
