They seem to be acquiring some pretty important lessons quickly here. If this person has an open mind and is learning from the experience then they have a better idea where the limits are than anyone on this forum that hasn't tipped their rover on its side. They also have first hand experience watching a pretty interesting vehicle recovery. In terms of "driver mods" they are making significant progress in my book. Doesn't look like anyone was hurt and that Defender doesn't even seem too shabby (except for the mirror) after it's nap.

Thinking back on my much younger days I certainly had some bone headed incidents which thankfully predate social media and cameras everywhere.

Agree 100%

I'm no stranger to stupidity.

The owner in this instance is an LR guru in Oregon. Owns a very reputable shop down there. Good bloke. Generous with his time and knowledge. His wife was driving.
**** happens. Mistakes are made. No one hurt or at risk of harm.

Mirror busted and some panels beat up. Congrats, now you have carte blanche on wheeling the snot out of this Trophy.

I was trying to figure how much damage was done. Agree, it looks like the mirror took the grunt of it. The panels and door handles look perfectly fine.

It also shows the benefits of the Lucky8 rock sliders, as in good winching points, vs the TuffAnt ones I have.

The cost of the mirror alone probably requires a kidney as a down payment. I mean without a puddle light you're basically screwed.

Good point on the sliders as a winching point. One more benefit of the tubular design.

Did a little exploring/snow wheeling this weekend to test out the BFGoodrich KO3's I put on this summer. They did fantastic in the snow. I'm running 265/70R18 on OEM Steelies.
