[QUOTE=PNW Rover;932634]My OCTA has arrived after I anxiously waited just over 12 months since we first saw one at the Los Angeles preview event, we took delivery on Saturday.

I've been buying and servicing vehicles at Land Rover Bellevue for 19-years and once again they provided a great experience. They have always been good and under the ownership of the Fields group the process has gotten even better.

I can't thank our Sales Guide Sami Alamran enough for his attention to detail and hospitality. Shout out to Michael Franzi their Customer Service Manager and Leon Decanay the New Vehicle Director for their interest in my purchase.

JLR at some point (I think at the port) dropped the deployable running boards from my order. Sami and Leon at Land Rover Bellevue were all over it and were prepared to install them at the dealership for just the cost they would have been had they been installed and listed on the MSRP. Turns out after Sami pulled around 110's with deployable running boards and tubular with side steps to compare, we decided to go with the tubular style as to us they looked proper on the OCTA.

In a flash Leon was on the phone with the Service Manager, who was at home being a Saturday, and he gave the okay to have a tech jump on it right then to install the tubular side steps so we wouldn't have to make a 6 hour round trip at a later time. During the 3 hours for their installation our Sale Guide Sami took us and our dog just down the road to Kirkland where he moors his boat, we had a great cruise out on Lake Washington and some refreshments at a nice waterside restaurant.

We love our new ride and the sales process exceeded our high expectations.

At home after the 3 hour drive back.

Thank you everyone for the comments and ownership tips. This is our 10th Land Rover in 30 years and adding in two Jags, it's our 12th JLR product, we couldn't be happier with this Defender. I like it so much butter than the LWB I traded in.

As for the comments on Fritz the Bernese Mountain Dog... Yes, he can have quite the condescending look that can be quite frightening but then he switches to goofball mode and is a teddy bear. A friend saw the spooky pic and said that is how he looks down upon Jeep and Bronco owners.

Curious, was your LWB the latest (460) model of RR? I love my Octa and now my wife wants one. We both prefer it by a wide margin to her LWB, for many reasons.

It was a 2024 L460 LWB-7 Seat that I traded it for the OCTA. It was only about 3 months old when we were invited to the OCTA reveal in Los Angeles and then the L460's days quickly became numbered. As you well know it is an apples to oranges comparison but both of us love the OCTA way more than the L460 LWB.

My wife drives a 2016 L405 Supercharged SWB with only 48,000 miles, she refuses to get rid of it. I was hoping she'd take my L460 and we'd trade the L405 but she won't give it up.

We had originally thought the L405 would be the 3 or more hour road trip car but the OCTA is so comfortable and fun on the road the L405 might remain a grocery getter. That said, interestingly my wife asked the other day if I thought a P400 Defender would be ample power to take the place of her Range Rover Supercharged or if she would need the V8...or an OCTA. For the little she drives and where she goes the P400 would be more than enough.

I think the only one who's sad the L460 is gone is our Bernese Mountain Dog, he gave up a little space in the back but is very comparable to my wife's SWB L405 cargo area and it a much higher roof.

405 I think is the better car. Love the styling of the new ones, just nailed it, but too much of a “spongy” driving experience.

I had to laugh at your P400 reference, my wife just had sent me a link to the same and said “why don’t I just get one of these?” We’ve been buying Rovers about the same amount of time (fist was a 2006) so must be those more analog roots that’s draws one to the Octa.

Enoy yours!

Congratulations, looks great.

Yes Sami is very nice and professional, he was very good when I was buying my Defender there.

We also have a Bernese, love the breed so much.

Just saw what looks like the identical spec at a dealer in LA. Looks amazing! Great choices. Can you post the full spec on yours. Is that Carpathian matte? I also noticed your car and the one below have all black wheels, not the diamond turned finish. Did you request the dealer powder coat? Also wondering if they guaranteed the Duratrac tires. I saw someone else received BF Goodrich. The Duratracs look so good I wouldn’t want another tire personally. Posted in another thread as well but this is the LA car…
