Default end of factory warranty-what should be inspected?

2023 X Dynamic, P400 (offroad package, towing, etc) 48K miles

I’m nearing the end of my factory warranty and have a few minor items that I will have addressed by the dealer. Before coverage expires, what areas would you recommend I have thoroughly inspected to ensure potential issues are caught under warranty?

I’m not concerned about the usual squeaks and rattles, but here are a few items previously brought up that haven’t been fully resolved:
  • Speaker distortion at higher volumes (“could not duplicate”).
  • Rear door intermittently sticking (“could not duplicate”).
  • Proximity push-door lock occasionally not functioning (battery already replaced).
  • Mild knock/binding when turning from a full stop (software update did not resolve).
  • Coolant leak (heater core replaced after the third inspection).
My plan is to keep the Defender long term and I’ve been very happy with it. Optionally, I could trade it in for a new one...$$. I'm not looking for reasons not to own anything JLR as I am a long time fan having owned several high mileage versions. The Defender is the best one yet...

The only things I would recommend based on my personal experience and a similar situation coming up in January....

Get the sensors recalibrated. Have them check the suspension and see if there are loose shocks or other components.

As was discussed before:
coolant lines to turbo
other metal coolant lines connection where o-rings are involved
Check all seals on transfer case/drive shafts and everything involved.

I have 48k miles as well and had a service done this week.

In addition to the service, the only things needed were coolant leak repairs and they replaced the seals on both rear doors so they don't stick.

Mine went out of warranty in January 2025 (with only like 27000 mile on it, grr) and here is what has gone wrong with it since:

-- left rear shock upper mount is rattling in normal height (fix = replace shock)
-- one of the LEDs in a headlight burned out
-- original battery giving low battery warnings
-- left rear door seal (which was replaced TWICE under warranty for this same problem ) is sticking again when opening the door. I dont understand how this problem “comes back” (do door seals “shift?”)

None of this presented itself under warranty so I’m but I’d give a look to all.

The door seal sticking is a known issue for which there is a TSB... which you can perform yourself in about 5 minutes in the driveway. All you need is a roll of thin 3M mounting tape.

Yep, I’ve done it. It happens again. I don’t understand it. Its like the seal shifts back ...
