Default Fabric seats staining - Tech Bulletin

I read on this and other forums about owners having issues with the fabric portion of certain seats (Robust Wowen? Robustec? Steelcut? Fat Bastard? I lost track of the names of the "tough, environmentally friendly" fabrics Land Rover uses) on the new Defender, allegedly staining and discoloring real easy from rainwater, for example. It's turned into a TSB. This is Land Rover's "repair" procedure, basically they clean them really really well with water and a vacuum cleaner. Sounds like something you could do in your own garage with the proper tool.

Umbertob:

Thanks for sharing this. Yep, my 2020 110 is definitely impacted.

I am going to follow Corsa's advice offered on another thread --- just ordered it from Amazon. Will clean the seats with water (as we did two weeks ago) and then treat them when the Aerospace 303 arrives...

----------------------------------

"After reading about a few people struggling with staining/water spots on the cloth surrounds I treated mine with Aerospace 303 within the first few days. I’ve used their products for years on our convertible tops and they look brand new afterwards. Water beads up beautifully and it just lasts.

I just dabbed a cloth with the 303 and put a light coat on the fabric. Took around five minutes or one beer. Stuff works wonders on any outdoor fabric as well."

I am curious if the issue is across the board on all of the non leather materials. I have seen some of the issues via youtube videos of the defenders with the cloth seating.

I have used Aerospace 303 for several years on my current vehicles. I like it.

Saw a showroom model that had pretty bad wear and I mentioned it to the SA. I guess just from people going in an out it wore pretty quickly. I am going to get mine protected when the car arrives next week.

I have the acorn interior with the leather inserts. My detailer put a treatment on mine when it was new that really has kept mine looking great for the last 1500 miles.

I can ask him what product he used if anyone is interested. It repels water like crazy.
