for anyone interested in installing or adding. This was actually a very easy install. I did not end up using the back plate included and not sure if it’s actually needed. the table wasn’t made for the defender but fits perfectly. unlike the pics on the other forum the holes lines up perfectly and centered to the rear gate.

not intending to put anything that heavy so it should hold up

great add to the truck. the kit includes various m6 length bolts and spacers and everything you need to install

How far does it stick out from the door when folded up? I'd like to install one, but I don't think there is enough space between my ARB fridge and the door.

I have a similar unit on my Wrangler, but the table part has lots of slots in it to attach MOLLE gear bags. When the table is stowed the bags just intrude into the cargo area by however thick they are. And when the table is deployed they just hang beneath it. That would be more useful to me than the cutting board. I wonder if the Jeep ones could be used on the Defender?

Nothing yet, even though it has been used quite a bit for hauling random things. I just picked up our new overlanding trailer this past week and was waiting until I had it to start outfitting what would be going on the rack and what would be used in the trailer.

what kind of trailer did you pick up. that’s the plan but seeing some of these get really pricey. wife wants a trailer with the luxuries but i want the overlanding. i am seeing builds in the 30-40k range. i could get a really nice travel trailer for that price and just build on the rig instead with a RTT instead

I also installed one of these tables a few months ago, but wanted access to the door pocket and warning triangle recess to remain, and also wanted the thing to sit centrally on the door (as my OCD would not live with the slightly off-centre mounting) so I attacked the backplate with a holesaw and cutting disc, and this is the result...

I'm happy with the result, but had to add the two rubber strips you can see in the pic, as it rattled like hell without them.
