Thanks for all the great comments. I actually got decent prices from my two dealers and am going for the OEM.

Approx - $1,080.00 (VPLEP0436 kit) and $440.00 install (Maryland dealer); $1,200 and $400.00 install (Wisconsin dealer). Subsequent $365.00 install from my Maryland independent LR shop. Definitely more expensive than other options but not a killer price for a good product and pro install (at least that’s my justification). Probably would have been best to negotiate at purchase.

 

All install estimates were low by a factor of over 2. Part purchased (OEM) as per above from dealer. Install $1,050 by independent LR shop. Good rapport from all, just expensive work. Took about 5 hours to install. When you get on the ground to look at it it’s great! Hope I never have to use it.

 

Local LR dealer in San Diego quoted me $1,774 for the OEM bash plate and $1,770 to install it (est. 6 hrs). I decided to go with Powerful UK's Easy-Fit After Market Skid Plate ($340 + shipping and god knows what else) after watching both of Simon's installation videos and reading several threads on this forum.
