Add me to the list of folks who cannot get park assist to work. The car can find and suggest spots but the start button remains greyed out. 2023.5 P300S in the US.

You are at an advanced stage, and I believe your situation is good for enabling the Auto Park feature. Unfortunately, I only have the "P" symbol, and nothing else. I hope someone has found a solution.

I worked on this tonight and it went OK. It took a few re-starts for the Emergency Brake error to go away and I did one Pivi reset and then the P icon showed up. It finds spots, but START is grayed out even when making sure my foot is depressing the brake. If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears. Thanks!

I've made the following changes. I was able to clear the brake error by locking, alarming, and waiting an hour. Connected the G4 and ran the clear faults script.
At that point I did not have the steering wheel icon. I reset the PIVI and then the steering wheel appeared on the PIVI screen.

I can drive down the road and the car is scanning for spots. I can select the steering wheel, or the icon on the PIVI menu and it will change into a mode where I can see it scanning for spots. It will recognize a spot and then ask me to slow down and stop and to select the spot I want. The menu changes and I'm asked to select if it is a parallel or bay spot. I can select one or the other. What I can't do is hit the start button. It is greyed out.

I have a 2023.5 P300
ACC is activated and working. I used the GAP tool for that as well.
ATPC is also activated and working.

Any thoughts on additional changes I could try? I haven't seen many lists of changes for parking assist other than these standard changes. Thank you!

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to update you on the procedure and the activation. I'm new to the Defender Family 2022 110X. So far, I love the vehicle. I've been learning a lot and trying to join as many forums as possible to learn more. I learned about the Gap tool from Lucky8LLC and decided to buy a unit; most people say it's a MUST-have for any LR owner. I used the setting in your thread, and I have to say it worked perfectly for me. I took the LR out for a test and made two hands-free parallel parking stops. Some of the older model LRs from the videos showed that you had to put the car in reverse and drive manually. This was not the case for my 2022.

Thanks for posting the list of files.

It worked for me. I uploaded the files on Monday and took the car out for a test on Tuesday. Did two parallel parking without any issues. I have a 2022 110 X.

Not sure why but only works on 2022 motors

Yes, though the standard functions (Fault Read/Clear, Service Functions, Live values, etc) are VIN lock free. And, if you have more than one LR, you can purchase up to 6 VIN licenses. Only the advanced functionality such as CCF (car config file) programming, EAS calibration or raising/lowering, ECU flashing, etc is locked.

The Pro is designed for shops/garages and is comprised of 2 units (G3 and G4) and is, of course, VIN lock free.

Default A clue to solving the Park Assist Greyed-Out Start Button

I was playing with my park-assist and also for whatever reason was playing with my ATPC in a school zone this morning.

I discovered that my park-assist feature becomes greyed-out when ATPC or HDC is turned on.

I wonder if there is some CCF in the ATPC settings that some vehicles may have turned on which others may have turned off.

My park-assist feature works but I know others have made the same changes and have not been able to get the Start button to un-grey.

This is just a possible clue, not a solution, and may perhaps be a red-herring. Just thought I'd share.

Perhaps try cycling through ATPC/HDC/Off when trying to press the start button in the park-assist can bump it into action.
