Default Glove Box/Fuse Box Warning

The other day I wanted to see where the various fuses are located on our L663 Land Rovers. As usual Powerful UK has a very useful and entertaining video on the subject:

Around 9:35 he gets into how to drop the glove box. You have to press two tabs on either side and release a damper bar. Looks easy and it is.The door, which BTW is awfully flimsy, drops down and the fuse box, hidden deep in a hole behind the dash, is "accessible". More or less.

Here the warning bit however. For LH vehicles. LR in its infinite wisdom has made reciprocal assemblies for most everything that is unique to LH or RH drive vehicles EXCEPT the glove box door. In the UK the damper bar or stay is easy to get at because it is outboard of the dash. On LH drive trucks it is tucked in against the transmission tunnel making it very fiddly to get at. To put the glove box door back in place you push the same tabs and then you can lift the door back in place. When I did this the door seems more floppy than before. Later when driving I heard something rolling around and lo and behold a geared wheel fell down and rolled about the passenger footwell. This is the bit that provides the damping effect. The bar is shown in the video painted gray, but the wheel is hidden in it recess and is not shown. Once I figured out where the gear came from it was a simple, but fiddly, matter to drop the door down, insert the gear back into its holder, and put the damper bar into the assembly. Powerful painted the stay gray so it is easy to identify, starting at 10:11 in the video.
