If you're considering the GoPro for your dash cam selection. Consider the GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini. I just got one to replace an older one. I have 4 mounted on the airplane, so a smaller form factor was appreciated. Best Buy has them on sale for under $200 at the moment, if you select open box like new. New ones are $200. One other item you may want to consider for a dash cam, is the Max lens. Makes it a wider view than the standard lens. So far I rather like it, does pretty much the same functions as the full sized one, just best to access it through the GoPro Quick App, since the screen is tiny and best left for elves to use. It has more mounting options as well, with a set of the fold out ears on the back as well as the bottom.

Best Buy Deal Mini 11

Now personally, I opted for the behind the headlights machine guns vice the dash cam. Far more satisfying.

But be careful ... it seems like a paradox ... but in Milan (now a truly unlivable metropolis) ... they break the deflectors to steal the dashcams ...
a paradox if we think that the cameras are put on for safety ... probably the Fitcamx being perfectly integrated is ignored by thieves.

Well, I lived in Sicily for a few years and the thieves there would break you door window, even if you had left it open! I suppose they were trying to help you out with the insurance. It did cause a bit of head shaking. Never had any theft problems in Perugia when going to school there, but then again, I had virtually nothing to steal anyway, My uncles never seemed concerned either, but it was a smaller city. Milan is huge.

My friend had his Fiat 500 stolen from him in Catania. Not a big deal, as it was the proverbial $300 car. It was just to be left at the airport. It was kind of an easy to recognize Harlequin paint job, with the driver's seat back broken in the flat position. He didn't really get worked up over the theft, but rather he continued to spot it driving around town for months later. This in your face I stole your crappy car bit really bothered him. He felt we should find it and burn it, just to send a message. Not that anybody would understand the message.

I ended up ditching my old setup because it kept overheating and missing footage. Switched to the X3 from store.insta360.com, and it’s been working way better. It sticks right to the windshield without blocking my view, and the footage is super clear, even at night. Plus, I can pull clips from my phone without needing to mess with memory cards or cables.

that is a very expensive alternative. FitcamX or any similar dashcam for just over 100$ from aliexpress is more than enough and so much descret.
