I'm going to be the Defender guy here and say I have always never wanted to own a frog-looking truck with body parts made of different random colors.

I think this thing looks like a bad early 80's Gelandewagon got partially crushed and was repaired with a Gen 1 VW rabbit body parts.

This Grenadier love is treasonous on here. Where is your loyalty everyone?

@nashvegas. As heavy D says"I got nothing but love" for the defender. It is staying in the family when the Grenadier arrives. You are correct that it looks like a Gen 1 Gwagon but considering Magna helped designed it, they didn't stray too far off the drawing board.

I gave up my reservation on the grenadier I must admit it is ugly and just can’t tow what I want so I’ll stick with my defender 110.

Al snorkels are raised air intakes but not all raised air intakes are snorkels.

In Australia, deep crossings in many places are the norm and most rigs are equipped with a snorkel. Sealed. It's pretty much standard kit.

It's not that you might want to wade deeper but a snorkel is a good safety buffer when you're close to or are at the maximum. Same is true for the Defender. An errant hole, a bow wave that you don't time just right. Lots of things like that will result in a bad day when having a snorkel would have been needed.
Here's my take as a generic 4WD club member in Australia ... most other 4WD's in the club have a snorkel, though very few vehicles outside of a Ranger or Jeep have even close to the wading depth of a 2020 Defender which is largely governed by the location of diff breathers. We frequently cross creeks in convoy and rarely are they over the rims, however there have been a few times after rain events that a convoy has turned back because it's deemed unsafe for all vehicles to cross. If you can't walk it - don't drive it is the norm, and in the case of the Defender ... if the creek is flowing fast against the side of the intake then I would avoid the crossing in the event you drop into a hole, especially in a diesel. If there is minimal flow or the intake is downstream, no problem, but I have been forced to turn back before and therefore I am still looking for a fully-sealed snorkel option for my 110 that doesn't require cutting the hood.

The problem that the Grenadier has, is that it's trying to be an old style Defender in looks.

Its a great vehicle but the old Defender was so "right" that the new one just looks like someone took an old one and ruined it with aftermarket tat.

l would still like to try a Grenadier because underneath it's all up to date and could be the "Defender" that Land Rover should have produced.

But if l bought one l would have to change that front bumper/fender....it's hideous

Thought everyone would find this video interesting. The info starts at the 7min mark. it has also been confirmed the US will get a short steel bumper.

Here are urban guys. The video is fun to watch as they drive it on the street. They are giddy on how well it drives on the street.
