Thank you for sharing. lot f good info to think about before my drive in May. The rear seats are a head-scratcher but if I need to lug stuff around the cavernous back of the Yukon xl can do the trick. Did you have safari windows in your IG? How did the suspension compare to your jeep or even the Defender. Ppl say it soaks everything up with little head bounce.
Also was it rock sliders or the sidestep? I assume it was rock sliders. Thinking about something to get you in the truck. Finally, great to hear MM is a great color. That is my lead for with a black roof.
We did the Ineos drive on Wednesday. Thought I’d share some of my thoughts as well. Overall both my wife and I love the Grenadier. I’ve been following them since they the beginning so knew about the issues with the rear seat folding down (not flat). The batteries and most of the electronics are stored under the rear seats and we were told that this allowed them to keep most of the ‘fragile electronics’ as far above any potential water ingress as possible. Everything seems over-built in a good way. There was a knowledgeable Ineos rep there to speak to everyone - pricing for the US is going to be released May 17 with orders going live in June for a (hopefully) Dec delivery.
It was great to have the opportunity to see and crawl around the cars, spent a few hours talking and taking pics. I was worried the interior would feel more ‘Jeep like’ with plastic touch points and such but happy ot say everything felt very robust. Both my wife and I love the Recaro seats, very comfortable and supportive - I hate the flat seats we tend to get in the US while the rest of the world gets the supportive bucket seats. Like everyone else has mentioned the switches are great and purposeful feeling. There aren’t multiple off-road modes to engage (or worry about). I did switch it into hill descent control a few times and it’s an easy flick of the shift lever over into manual to activate. The diff locks are buttons overhead along with an off-road mode and wadding mode. I’d originally discounted the safari roof windows but after seeing them in person that’s how we’d spec ours.
The Grenadier is about 3 inches taller than the Defender. Having both a G550 and new Defender I’d have to say the Grenadier is more like the GWagon than anything. Everything from how the door feel and function, the feeling of vertical space inside and most of the overall look makes me feel it’s just a more modern and rugged version of the original G’s. We’ll be replacing my wife’s GWagon with the Grenadier when the time comes. The step up into the car will need to be addressed for my wife and kids to get up into the car, felt like getting into the Defender in Off-Road height. The rock sliders don’t protrude out enough to provide a meaningful side step - one of the instructors said he was spec’ing with the sliders and then having someone weld on a small extension for a step. They also have side tube steps available but the sliders looked so good. On the other hand there should be some vendors releasing their options soon as well.
Overall we were very impressed and will order one when they open up. I think we’ve settled on the light blue color, although magic mushroom was a close second. It was an analog experience vs the digital one we have with our Defender.
I got an opportunity to test drive it in Seattle this week. There is really nothing I could add that 4corsa all ready said. I will say that the interior felt tighter than the L663 despite it being larger. The rear bench seat is really a two seater the middle seat is useless. I got there at 8:30 and left around until 11. When leaving the manufacturer with the most vehicle was Land Rover. There were at least 15 of them parked for the 8:30 to 10:30 showings. There also were two land rover repair shop owners buying a Grenadier.
Mine would be around $86 before tax, tag, and any fees.
I'm building it and I feel like I'm just going through the motions with this one. Not excited at all for some reason. Going to try to drive one before I really decide.
Also do not love the range. 15mpg is probably really 12-ish so it's ~263 miles on a tank of you drive it to fumes I hate getting gas.

ls that for the petrol version? The diesel should surely better 20mpg (US gallon) with a bit of care.
Probably but diesel isn't available in the US. Or, if it is, it's not on the configurator.
So many media outlets had this at 20-ish mpg and they really botched the pricing expectation. I was expecting $60-$70k, not $92k. I have been pretty casual about paying attention so maybe I missed something.
Can't you get the "Commercial" versions in the USA?
ln the U.K. these are 3/5 seat with a more basic specification, but still nice.
Prices are at least £10,000 cheaper than the posher Trailmaster/Fieldmaster versions.
There is a base version called "Grenadier" here but it's pretty stripped out and it ended up being a few thousand more when I added what I would want to make it livable. The only plus is the steel wheels that aren't available in the Fieldmaster. Those alloys are fugly.
I was a reservation holder until I decided to cancel mine in March and order a Defender 110. As of today I know that my Grenadier would price out at $86,345, and that didn't include sales tax and freight, which I estimate would be another $5300. So well over $90K all-in. The 110 I have coming to me in August, which I optioned and configured comparably to the Grenadier, came up to $66K, and that did include freight and sales tax.
Even if the cost of the Grenadier hadn't proven out of my budget, I was worried about getting version 1.0 of a vehicle from a company that is also brand new, and not having any local dealer support. Plus I'm an old Land Rover guy, so it's feeling like getting back to my roots by going with a Defender.

I absolutely love my 110 and, if I knew I could buy a Grenadier for a year, let the novelty wear off then get back into a Defender, I would. The problem is I have every option that they've taken out and it would not be the same truck. Still great but not the same.
