Beautiful truck and the color looks sweet in the wild. Any interior shots?

I surrendered my deposit (still don’t have my damn $450 back, despite promises to that effect) after going to the drive-it-on-some-trails launch in April. The only reason was interior ergos; the step-in height was waaaaaay higher than a lowered Defender, and since I have shorter people in my life (wife and mom) who ride in the Dfender regularly, that was a no-go. Also, the folded rear seats sticking up 9” or whatever it is in the middle of the cargo space is a non-trivial problem when sliding things in. Those were my main complaints. I enjoyed driving it, liked the sight-lines from the front, and would have ordered one if it wasn’t such a high step getting in.

But the itch to have something much more analog and “rugged” feeling was activated, so I bought back my former 2014 2-door Wrangler (veeeery heavily built for offroading with new transfer case, axles, diffs, lockers, etc.) from the friend I sold it to when I ordered the Defender in 2021. At $20,000 it is easier to justify keeping it along with the Defender.

Sorry to hear that, I was able to get my deposit back within a week or so. I agree on the folded rear seats issue, that's a big deal for our family. Our seats are layed flat 95% of the time to accommodate a dog crate and gear. Same rear seat issue with the new Land Cruiser. Nice Jeep! I removed the rear seat from my 2-door the day I brought it home.

I'm still hanging onto my queue #. No idea when I'll get notified of anything. Online it says that I'm order number (approx) 11,500. That's what happens when you sign up day two of when it opened! That means I should get it in production year 4 or something.... It says it was pre-ordered 7/13/2023 with an estimated delivery of Q4 2023. Seeing as we have three more days in the quarter and that the "Domino's Delivery" flow shows "In Production" grayed out, I'm pretty skeptical. Direct communication has been lacking, but I'm sure they are herding cats, I mean orders, way earlier in the queue than me right now.

@4Corsa - If you find a good Grenadier Forum (as good as this one!), please post it. Would love to start trolling that one as well. Also, love the watch analogy. I was thinking along the lines of Analog vs. Digital already!

Here is a good Grenadier forum: https://www.theineosforum.com/whats-new/

I have an order# but strongly leaning towards canceling after a long test drive. Love the exterior styling but think the defender is more for me. I have a 90 but on the list for 110 V8 (to trade in the 90).

@groudek9. I'm on that forum and can attest it is just as good. I have the same username on it.

ln the U.K. we've already got used Grenadiers appearing in the classifieds at a fair bit below list price.

The Grenadier forum is great. It's a smaller community but consists of members from all over the world, it's interesting to hear their take on the vehicle and see (and be jealous of) some of the unique environments they're driving in and through.

Regarding the height of the vehicle I'd say it's similar to the height of the Defender when raised to the higher setting. I optioned the side steps for the same reason as others - wife is on the shorter side and I find I actually use them some to get in so I'm not constantly squishing the seat side bolster. Wasn't too fond of the rear seat folding situation originally but I've found that I have much more storage in the rear compartment in the Grenadier. With my Defender I'd always have 3/4 passenger seat down so I could carry around everything for work. With the Grenadier the volume is much higher (not sure what the actual volume number is) so I can store the equivalent amount of things with the seats still up.

I actually had a harder time selling my Defender HSE than I would have thought. Unfortunately, or rightfully so, we're now back to the normal times of car depreciation. Had I sold my car a year ago I'd have probably gotten close to what I bought it for. This was the tag line of a recent article - The search term "give back car" is exploding on Google Trends, indicating a growing trend of people wanting to eliminate their huge car payments. Auto loan delinquency rates have reached the highest level since 1994, indicating a concerning trend in the market.

Not to say the Grenadier is a perfect car but I'm still enjoying it.

currently have order in for a fully-optioned fieldmaster due april/may, with no deposit required, so no rush to make any decision. the looks of the truck are just fantastic and no doubt will be a great offroader. i do wish landrover took more of those cues with the new defender, but understand why they didn't. my test drive was a 50/50 experience. i liked the overall feel, drive, height, sightlines, feel on the road. got used to the steering pretty quickly. drove a trialmaster and wasn't too impressed with interior fit and finish. definitely "rugged" and "utilitarian." i like the looks of the interior in general, but definitely felt "cheap" compared to my 2022 110. hoping the addition of leather, etc in the fieldmaster improves the overall feel inside. definitely not expecting modern land rover luxury though. some weird ergonomic stuff in terms of poor sidestep placement, vehicle access, seats, screens, UX/UI, and the tech wasn't impressive. but i get it, that's not what the truck is about and imagine aftermarket options will eventually remedy a lot. biggest issue for me will be my comfort level with service, parts, etc. and how well ineos responds to all the issues that inevitably pop up with new cars (software, and other bits). i'm fortunate to be relatively close to a dealer, but they're still building out and not quite "ready for prime time" yet. but like i said, i've got time, and am keeping my fingers crossed. fortunately i do like my 110 a lot. it does pretty much everything i need it to do quite well. it just lacks a little "soul" and is beginning to blend in with all the other suburban SUVs. anyway, for the time being i'm enjoying the grenadier forum (along with this one) and am just gonna set the cruise control and see where the road takes me...

I was pretty much in the exact same position as you. Originally the Grenadier was going to be a replacement for my wife’s G550, but in the end she decided that she really liked her Mercedes and we have a nice Euro specialist shop nearby that can do all of the work/repair at a reasonable cost. I really liked my Defender and it did everything I needed it to. May have been some concerns about long term maintenance but who knows. Thought I’d make the leap and try the Grenadier as it was along the lines of what I’ve always wanted.

I optioned our Trialmaster with leather and the safari roofs. Pretty much identical to the Fieldmaster but I wanted the dual battery as it’s something I’d never undertake installing. The leather is nice, seats are super comfortable to me and have a lot of lateral support. It’s never going to feel as luxurious as the Land Rover but then it never was supposed to be.
